Seattle Transmedia & Independent Film Festival (STIFF) is seeking submissions for its 2018 festival. STIFF accepts a wide range of submissions in order to present a full program of film screenings, transmedia exhibits, VR/360 experiences, parties, creator panels and networking. Submission deadline is July 1.

MUSIC LOVERS: 2018 KEXP AND SEATTLE CENTER FREE CONCERTS AT THE MURAL ANNOUNCES LINEUP

Seattle residents can once again enjoy free outdoor concerts on Friday evenings in August at Concerts at the Mural. Some of the month's lineup of talent includes Tacocat, Afghan Whigs, The Moondoggies, and True Loves. The shows are free and all-ages.

COLLEGE STUDENTS: APPLY NOW FOR HISPANIC SEAFAIR'S "ART FOR CHANGE" SCHOLARSHIP

Hispanic Seafair announced their first Art for Change Scholarship for students pursuing art and creative majors. To be considered, students need to communicate to the review committee how they plan on using the scholarship to better the community through an essay or video; the opportunity is open to all students, regardless of citizenship status.

SEATTLE ARTISTS: JOIN A FREE CONVERSATION WITH TEN CHILEAN ARTISTS AND SCIENTISTS FOR A CROSS-DISCIPLINARY EXCHANGE

Ten Chilean artists and scientists who are in Seattle for the pilot program of ASKXXI: Arts + Science Knowledge-Building and Sharing in the XXI Century will have a free conversation around questions in collaboration of arts, emerging digital/virtual technologies, and the ecological sciences. The talk will look at fundamental questions around art, creativity, rigorous inquiry, and the work needed to build the future on June 13, from 6:00PM - 8:00PM, at Vermillion.

MOPOP IS LOOKING TO EXPAND TO NEW YORK CITY

The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) may open a new museum in New York City. The expansion would occupy a Manhattan building that is currently home to New York Public Library's Science, Industry and Business Library. "Our motivation for MoPOP in New York City will be the same as MoPOP in Seattle: inspiring multigenerational audiences through the popular culture of our time," stated Board Vice President Chris McGowan. LYNN SHELTON'S NEXT FILM TO FEATURE CAST FROM RECENT TV SUCCESS

Sword of Trust, Lynn Shelton's next film, will feature talent she has worked with in TV. Shelton has collected directing credits for series such as Shameless, , , and GLOW; the new film will feature actors from Shelton's TV work to create the -styled improvised comedy.

CAPITOL HILL BLOCK PARTY ANNOUNCES FINAL 2018 LINEUP

The Capitol Hill Block Party has announced its 100+ acts for its three-day music festival July 20- 22. The festival features headliners Father John Misty, Dillon Francis, and BROCKHAMPTON, in addition to emerging and local artists and community speakers in the center of the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
