2016-11-01 10:29 CET and MØ will play NorthSide

The hip hop supergroup and the Danish superstar will be joined by Liss and Bisse

Announcements for next year’s festival started with a bang when NorthSide last week revealed that Radiohead would headline NorthSide 2017. The result was a start to ticket sales that went beyond all expectations, and one- day tickets for Sunday disappeared at a record setting pace. Three-day-tickets are still selling at a historically rapid pace, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the pace keeps up, when the first announcement is followed up with four strong and very different acts, which show a little of the diversity one can look forward to at next year's festival. Run The Jewels The US superduo consists of El-P and , who were already successful and respected rappers in their own right when they in 2013 joined forces and created Run The Jewels, which moved them from being underground heroes to international superstars. The breakthrough came with "Run The Jewels 2", where the focus was on political lyrics and a contribution from from Rage Against the Machine helped turn "Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)" into a hit.

The was named one of 2014’s best by magazines like Pitchfork, Billboard, and . But the ultimate punches come when you experience Run The Jewels live like when they were among the headliners at Coachella, where the duo according Soundvenue delivered "an uppercut of a concert".

Run the Jewels is one of the most intelligent, inspiring, hard-hitting, and captivating hip-hop acts right now, and we are very excited to present El-P and Killer Mike on stage in Aarhus this summer.

Run the Jewels will play Friday, June 9th at NorthSide 2017

MØ The success continues unabated for the Danish superstar, who has just played a series of sold-out concerts in Denmark, England, and the United States as well as having a worldwide hit with the Major Lazer/Justin Bieber collaboration "Cold Water". She has also released three singles over the last year, pointing forward to a new album that will follow up on the huge success of "No Mythologies to Follow".

MØ has over the years proven to be one of the most requested and popular acts at NorthSide, and we can’t wait to get another visit from her.

Liss The first step Liss took toward success was taken in Aarhus in September 2014, when a trip to their rehearsal space led to the creation of the song "Try." Six months later XL Recordings (Adele, Radiohead, The xx) went to the band's first concert at Train, and since then things have moved really quickly for the four of Aarhus.

Pharrell has played both "Always" and "Sorry" on his radio program, and the group was nominated for the P3 Award in 2016, won the Hope of the Year at Steppeulven and has toured both Europe and the United States. Now they are ready to take over the home turf with their first concert at NorthSide.

Bisse Comparisons to David Bowie and C.V. Jørgensen only scratches the surface of the iceberg that is the tremendously productive and innovative songwriter Bisse. Since April 2015, he has released five that have gotten great reviews everywhere, and the concerts by the eccentric performer have been praised for their uncompromising renditions of the caustic, humorous, and intoxicating lyrics. Bisse is unlike anything else on the Danish music scene right now, and we look forward to his visit at NorthSide.

Right now, the line-up for NorthSide 2017 looks like this: Bisse, Liss, MØ, Radiohead, and Run The Jewels.

NorthSide 2017 can be experienced in Aarhus, Denmark on the 9th – 11th of June 2017 and tickets are available through NorthSide.dk.
