• GS Students should only choose an adviser with doctorate degree • Each local adviser can only have 5 GS student advisees at all times (check website for list of students under each faculty member) • If a GS student gets an approval from a foreign advisor, the student will also be given a local coordinator (IE-EMG faculty) assigned by the Program Chair and or Research Coordinator • How to get the approval of an adviser? • Local (IE-EMG Faculty Members) – Students can email the faculty personally to get their approval subject to the 1 adviser : 5 advisees ratio. • Foreign (Faculty from Partner Universities) – Inform the Research Coordinator or the Program Chair of the chosen adviser. We will endorse you to the respective advisers. Don’t email them directly. • Prepare your CV/Resume, proposed 2-3 topics under the specialization/expertise of the chosen adviser. This will be given to the prospective adviser. BS Programs (IE,SEM,EMG,MGTE)

• 3rd Year standing BS students should start looking for their thesis adviser • BS Students should prioritize choosing local advisers (IE-EMG faculty members) • BS Students who want to be under foreign advisers can inform the Research Coordinator or Dean but this will be for evaluation and recommendation. • Each local adviser can only have 5 BS student advisees at all times (check website for list of students under each faculty member). An adviser can have more than 5 advisees if all local faculty members have at least 1 BS advisee. • If a BS student gets an approval from a foreign advisor, the student will also be given a local coordinator (IE-EMG faculty) assigned by the Program Chair and or Research Coordinator • How to get the approval of an adviser? • Local (IE-EMG Faculty Members) – Students can email the faculty personally to get their approval subject to the 1 adviser : 5 advisees ratio • Foreign (Faculty from Partner Universities) – Inform the Research Coordinator or the Dean of the chosen adviser. We will endorse you to the respective advisers. Don’t email them directly. • Prepare your CV/Resume, proposed 2-3 topics under the specialization/expertise of the chosen adviser. This will be given to the prospective adviser. Reminder For Both GS and BS Students

• Since we have the 1 adviser to 5 advisees ratio for both BS and GS level, the advisers will be selective in choosing their respective advisees to fill-up their 5 slots. • The student has the option to choose his/her adviser, but the adviser can also request to drop an advisee if he/she is not performing. • A student who request for change of adviser or dropped by an adviser should change his/her topic and will not use any of the ideas/topics shared by the adviser. • Request for Change of adviser is for approval of the Program Chair
