The premise reminds me of something Neil Gaiman would write about, a fantasy story involving ancient Greek gods and what they're up to now. The difference is that Campbell goes into way more detail about the mythology and history of the different characters, while still remaining fresh and interesting. I was a little put off by the Eyeball Kid stories and felt he had worn out his welcome a little but the chapter with him being the major focus is the shortest in the book. I am very interested in checking out Volume 2 now. The publishers website lists it as coming out June 2016.3 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Finally!By Mark CederholmI've been waiting for years for this long-promised edition to come out. Bacchus is Eddie Campbell's masterpiece, and this edition does it justice. The binding feels quite sturdy (only time will tell), and the wine stains on the cover are a nice touch. (Yes, my Dark Horse copy of "Deadface" has actual wine stains on it.)
