The Let’s Talk Science Challenge positively impacts Grade -6

8 students because it explores the topics of Biology, Chem- istry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Engineering

& Technology, Math, Physics and Space Sciences. It em- phasizes team collaboration, cooperative learning and problem-solving skills. This free, fun-filled activity encour- ages students to be role models and test their abilities against and with peers. The challenge includes an exciting question and answer competition, an interactive, hands-on design experience, which inspires students to acquire sci- ence, technology, engineering and math, STEM, knowledge beyond their curriculum. We wish our students plenty of fun and luck on Friday, April 29th during the challenge!

Spelling Bee Competition

Royal Vale School would like to congratulate Jordan High School Trips Stolow and Devon Packer for winning this year’s Royal Vale School Spelling Bee Competition. This year’s English Montreal School Board’s Leader- ship Camp will take place from Wednesday, April 27 to Friday, April 29, 2016 at Camp Val-Estrie in Water- ville, Quebec. The camp is organised and run by ap- proximately twenty–five senior students from the high schools throughout the board through the guid- ance of C-J Turner, child care worker at and Coordinator of the Student Leader- ship Program. Students will be exposed to many com- ponents of leadership through experiential learning, a key note speaker, guided discussions, personal reflec- tions, team and spirit building activities, as well as sharing personal experiences. Ms. Halaris our staff Student Life Leadership Advisor will be accompanying 17 Royal Vale students to the camp.
