NW () WALKING GROUP

FEBRUARY 2020

THE GROUP IS CURRENTLY FULL. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING US FOR A WALK OR WISH TO BE PUT ON THE WAITING LIST PLEASE CONTACT PAULINE (see below for contact information)

We meet every Thursday (no matter what the weather) and walks start prompt at 10am. We stop for a short coffee / snack break about halfway.

The walks are between 5 and 8 miles in the winter months (October to April) – tending to be 5-7 miles, as weather might be an issue (mud, etc. can slow things down) Walks take about 3 – 3.5 hrs, and are followed by a pub lunch – not compulsory – and the walk leader is responsible for arranging this.

Summer walks (April to October) are 5-8 miles, but we occasionally have longer walks up to 10 miles each summer. Walks of over 7 miles will probably need a packed lunch, so we can have a more leisurely walk in better weather (hopefully!!) Pub lunches for all other walks.

Walks take place across North , South and towards Huddersfield and Wakefield. They include rural and riverside walks, high moors and uplands, and woodlands.

We recommend wearing appropriate weatherproof clothing and good boots. Bring refreshments for a short stop half way. Walk details and lunch arrangements will be sent out to the group in advance.

We are sorry, but dogs are not allowed on our walks.

KEEEEEP WALKING!!
