Catholic Daughters of America (CDA) Court 2709 – Mother of Mercy

We are a non-profit national women’s organization whose motto is “Unity and Charity” We provide local spirituality, sharing, and activity under the support of a vibrant national organization. Members donate to charities, administer scholarship programs, and strive “to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness.” We embrace the principle of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equality, and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all.

Our St. Mark court was established in August 2016, with a growing membership of 56 who support parish activities and donate to our community. With COVID-19 restrictions in place we are currently meet monthly through Zoom meetings and creatively continue with our charity work.

CDA organizes fundraisers throughout the year to support non-profit organizations in our community such as Youth on Their Own, Poverello House, Sr. Jose Women’s Center, St. Francis Men’s Shelter, Dress a Girl, (now called Peace by Piece), Pio Cecimo and many others. We also support St. Mark’s youth ministries, local seminarians, and when asked parish and diocese needs. We participate in the yearly Rosary Celebration and help anytime we are asked to do so by the parish or the diocese.

In keeping members safe by complying with CDC guidelines, we recently collected enough personal hygiene products and other personal items to donate 55 backpacks to Sr. Jose Women’s Center for homeless women. As one-member recalls, “It was an emotional experience while shopping for items that all of a sudden came over me, I had to stop and regain my composure thinking of people living on the street, the simple things we take for granted like brushing our teeth is something others cannot do without the necessary supplies.”

If you are interested in participating as a member or would like to join one of our zoom meetings to see what we are all about, we invite you to join us. We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Please email [email protected] or contact Robin Hadden, Regent at 845-590-7467 for the zoom link.

Come and see how the wonderful women of St. Mark CDA donate their time and talent.
