Craig St, which will remain an all-walk phase ¾ New signalized pedestrian crossing between Bouquet St and Bigelow Blvd/Schenley Dr 6 Bicycle Improvements ¾ New bike lanes between Bigelow Blvd/Schenley Dr and Margaret Morrison St ¾ Completes connectivity to existing bike facilities ¾ Two-stage left turns (Curb Cuts at T intersections) ¾ Minimum 5’ width bike lanes with a 2’-4’ painted buffer where Some minor specifics may change year to year, such as the dorm or exact curfew hours, but overall policies are consistent. Location: Forbes Hall - https://pc.pitt.edu/housing/halls/forbes.php 3525 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 Students, Doris Duke, Interns, and Resident advisors will be staying in Forbes Hall. The dorm is located on the west side of the university campus. University Policies: Students in the dorms will be expected to follow all University of Pittsburgh Housing policies, in addition to the policies of the Hillman Academy. A detailed look at the policies can be found here - https://www.pc.pitt.edu/housing/policies.php You can also contact Panther Central for any questions related to Pitt or the dorms. (info below) The most important ones to note are the Guest, Technology, and Substance policies. Transportation: Transportation to and from your lab, keynote addresses, and events will be provided. We hire a private shuttle to take students to and from these required events. Barco Law Building has fire protection features that enable the use of a zoned fire alarm system, which means that the floor of the emergency and only one floor above and one floor below the site of the emergency, will signal fire alarm conditions. If the fire alarm signal (audible horns/speakers and visual strobe lights) activates on your floor, evacuate the building. The fire alarm pull stations are located at the exit doors and near the stairwells. 1. If you hear or observe the fire alarm signal: i. Verify that your floor is involved in the emergency by observing the strobe signals. ii. Close the door behind you and evacuate the building by following the Exit signs to nearest stairwell or exterior door. Call to Order Indovina calls meeting to order and announces the special hearing is regarding the Stephen Foster statue. Roll call is taken. B. Correspondence Guerra states the City has received 126 comments regarding the sculpture from which 26 are about removing the statue, 34 are from relocating (of those 34, 17 of them were from a 10th grade class at Ellis school), to add signage was 19 and to do nothing was 32, and 15 were non- conclusive. Each Commissioner has a list of names related to those comments. Some of those people suggesting relocation have suggested different places. One of them is the Allegheny Cemetery, another one is the Stephen Foster Memorial at Pitt, others said the Foster Homestead in Lawrenceville, the Smithsonian African American Museum, a private setting, to a private location or somewhere that holds Pittsburgh history. Definition of Chapter 175 Rachel O’Neill, Assistant City Solicitor, City Department of Law O’Neill stated that for review today is the Stephen Foster statue, a bronze sculpture with a granite base measuring approximately 10 feet high and 4 feet wide at its base.

In the event of a fire in the Stephen Foster Memorial Building, the entire building will signal fire alarm conditions. If the fire alarm signal (visual strobe lights and audible horns) activate, evacuate the building. The fire alarm pull stations are located at the exit doors and near the stairwells. 1. If you hear or observe the fire alarm signal: i. Close the door behind you and evacuate the building by following the Exit signs to the nearest stairwell or exterior door. Do not use the elevators during an alarm condition, unless directed by an emergency responder. ii. Proceed to an assembly point away from the building. The closest assembly area for the Stephen Foster Memorial Building is the Cathedral of Learning at 4200 Fifth Avenue. iii. Do not re-enter until the “all clear” signal is given by the police or fire department. 2. Upon discovery of smoke or fire: i. Alert anyone in immediate danger. ii. Close the door to contain smoke or fire. iii. Activate the nearest pull station. iv. Evacuate the building. Note: If you cannot activate the pull station and you are in a safe area, call 911 or call University Police at 412-624-2121.
