Moynihan Set Precedents

Much has been said about former Ambassador Moynihan from a hard hat individual, set upon destroying Third World influences within the United Nations, to the strong advocate of U.S. foreign policies, denouncing Zionism and sponsoring a resolution which would benefit the Third World. The former ambassador set new precedents while he was in the United Nations. The unspoken rules for diplomats around the world is strict adherence to subtle meetings and secret correspondence between the figures which represent their individual countries. Daniel Patrick Moynihan was not the type of person that followed conventional guide lines, even when Secretary of State Henry iKissinger's! subordinates and the ex-ambassador disagreed about national foreign policies. 1 With Moynihan out of the United Nations, the Ford administration has another gapping hole to deal with; but never fail, Pearl Bailey, Ford's ambassador of good will, will take up the slack.
