DAP fines MP over 'rowdy' behaviour Malaysiakini.com Disember 17, 2010

DAP has imposed a fine of RM500 on its Federal Territories secretary Lim Lip Eng for his unruly conduct at the DAP congress on Nov 28.

NONEAccording to DAP disciplinary committee chairperson , the light penalty was in view of Lim's immediate apology a day after the incident.

Tan also points out the committee also notes that Lim had replied the show-cause letter issued on Nov 29 in just one day.

However, Tan said that the committee had also issued a reprimand to Lim over the incident.

When contacted, Lim said he has yet to be officially informed of the decision.

Lim has 14 days to pay the fine, which will be channeled to the party's coffers.

Ejected twice

During the Selangor DAP congress, elections of the state office bearers were also taking place.

As ballots were being counted, Lim, who was on the floor, shouted "Teresa (Kok)! You won!".

The chairperson of the congress immediately ordered for Lim's removal from the venue.

Later, when results were being announced, Lim somehow made it back to the venue.

When it was clear that the team he favoured had won, Lim then shouted "Yes!" loudly a few times, prompting his second ejection.

Following this, Lim came under intense scrutiny from the public over his behaviour, particularly because he is also the MP.
