Reunion 2014 Was a Blast! Classes That Graduated in Years Ending in 4 and 9

Nearly 400 alumni from Music & Art met up at the castle on June 7th to celebrate their 30th to 75th anniversaries. Attendees included graduates from 1941 to 1984. The joyous day featured a tour, drinks and hors d’oeuvres on the terrace, a delicious dinner in the cafeteria, and concluded with a trip to LaGuardia High School for the Semi-Annual Orchestra and Chorus Concert. The security guards said they had never seen so much hugging in the lobby. Celebration in the auditorium at the castle. The same day, June 7: n The class of LaGuardia ’89 held its reunion at LaGuardia, which featured performances from many classmates including Jeremy Manasia (who performed in the 2013 and 2014 Jazz “Fame” concerts), blues guitarist Left: Reminiscing in the cafeteria. REIUNION 2014 The class of ‘89 continued the celebration at an after party in the East Village. More than 100 class- mates danced, ate, and were merry until the wee hours of the morning. The family picnic in Central Park’s Sheep Meadow on Sunday was a perfect way to end the weekend’s festivities.

LaGuardia, Class of 1989

n Many other LaGuardia classes held their reunions offsite (where alcohol was available). n Performing Arts alumni also came together on June 7th for a memorial for beloved drama teacher Marjorie Dycke and a reunion of PA grads. In total, over 600 alumni celebrated their time at Music & Art, Performing Arts and LaGuardia that day; numerous before and after parties complemented the celebrations. A special thanks to Arlene Wasserman, M&A ’74 for her time and invaluable support. Many class leaders have already started planning for their reunion next year, for class graduations in years ending in “0” and “5”. We’ve found that classes with leaders to help organize them have a far better experience. If you’re a class leader who has a reunion next year or would like to be a class leader, please contact Barbara Engel at the A&F office. We’re happy to help support you – we have a new Reunion “how-to” Handbook and lots of experience with what other classes have done. 6 REUNION 2014
