Geological Survey of India (G.S.I) during the period March, 1956 to November, 1957. It was again taken up for investigation by CMPDIL. The detailed sub surface investigations carried out by the CMPDIL in Barjora North Coal Block established a thickness of around 160 m for the sedimentary of Barakar formation contained therein.
