Anaheim in the Spotlight Featured Business: Commercial Bank of California: Taking Investment to a New Level The City's Economic Development Team recently sat down with Commercial Bank of California's CEO to learn more about the company's journey to Anaheim. CEO Ash Patel was the founding President of Premier Commercial Bank, which was located in Anaheim from 2001 to 2011. At Premier Commercial Bank, Patel built a highly capable team with exceptional customer service and banking experience. The bank experienced consistent growth and profitability and was acquired by California United Bank in 2011. Patel joined Commercial Bank of California, or CBC for short, in 2014. As a full- service, FDIC-insured bank they offer customized lending solutions for businesses including business lines of credit, equipment financing, construction loans, commercial real estate loans and Small Business Administration, or SBA, guaranteed lending programs. Working with companies as an SBA Preferred Lender they identify the best government supported program for their business. Remaining true to his belief in investing in his employees, he decided to open a new office in Anaheim and invited members of his former team to join him at CBC to provide the same high standards of service and responsiveness to Anaheim businesses. Today, eight of Anaheim's CBC team members can trace their roots back to Premier Commercial Bank and work together to empower Anaheim businesses. "Businesses need a bank that is focused on the success of its clients. While CBC's robust financial condition and advanced technology have long been our hallmarks, it is our unique approach to personal service that is making us the bank of choice for businesses in Southern California. Our focus remains on further enhancing the banking experience in order to contribute to our clients' success," Patel said. CBC's commitment to its clients has paid off. Earlier this year, it surpassed $1 billion in assets for the first time and was recently recognized by the Orange County Business Journal for its investment and employee growth over the past year. "CBC is focused on more than financial investments. We are committed to investing in our employees, local businesses and the communities we serve," Patel said. CBC prides itself in taking investment to a new level. It recently invested $500,000 to boost distressed communities through Clearinghouse Community Development Financial Institution, Clearinghouse CDFI for short. This investment will benefit low-income and distressed communities by continuing to finance community facilities, affordable housing, commercial real estate and other projects that help create jobs and services in underserved areas. "CBC is dedicated to promoting the 'life wealth' of communities we serve. Through this investment, we are proud to lend our support to Clearinghouse CDFI's important work financing innovative projects that help create jobs and provide affordable housing, community facilities and small-business support in the community" Patel said. Commercial Bank of California's Anaheim regional office is at 1900 S. State College Blvd. For more information on CBC's history and business services, watch their video here or visit its website. • New Enhancements to Elevate Genesis Open Status on PGA TOUR in 2020 Tiger Woods-Hosted Event Will Join Nicklaus, Palmer Tournaments in Special Category
1 New enhancements to elevate Genesis Open status on PGA TOUR in 2020 Tiger Woods-hosted event will join Nicklaus, Palmer tournaments in special category PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif., February 13, 2019 – PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan today announced that the Genesis Open will receive elevated status on TOUR with the implementation of several significant enhancements, beginning in 2020. Joined by tournament host Tiger Woods and Euisun Chung, Manfred Fitzgerald and Erwin Raphael of title sponsor Genesis at The Riviera Country Club, Monahan highlighted several important changes for the tournament moving forward: The Genesis Open will move to invitational qualifying status and reduce its field from 144 players to 120; The champion will receive a three-year PGA TOUR exemption, an increase by one year over the standard winner’s exemption on TOUR; The purse will grow to $9.3 million, among the largest on TOUR and an increase of $1.9 million over the 2019 purse. The winner’s share will be $1.674 million; In collaboration with the tournament’s broadcast partners, recognition of Woods’ vast accomplishments as a player and his philanthropic work through the TGR Foundation will be amplified through the telecasts and promotion of the tournament. These elements will put the Genesis Open in select company on TOUR alongside the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide and the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. Jack Nicklaus’ Memorial Tournament began awarding a three- year exemption and elevated purse in 2016 and Palmer’s tournament did so the following year. “In recognition of Tiger’s place alongside Jack and Arnold as a modern-day golf icon who hosts a home-based PGA TOUR tournament, plus the common thread of doing exceptional philanthropic work through his TGR Foundation, elevating the Genesis Open is an important and deserved step toward further cementing Tiger’s legacy in our sport,” Genesis 10550 Talbert Avenue Fountain Valley, CA 92708 USA www.genesisnewsusa.com 2 Monahan said.
