• 2 CAB advisers based in health centre. • Focus is tackling childhood poverty. • Hosted/ embedded in GPs; HVs; Specialist Children's Services and SNIPS • Keen they are extended members of the team • Although early in the process encouraging signs in terms of; Willingness to engage; Uptake; Referrals and exploring new ways of working • Dealing with: debt, managing money, benefits, employment, housing… • Several appointments lasting 45 minutes. Advantages
• Making advice accessible to most vulnerable, hard-to-reach clients.
• Tackling the relationship between health and poverty. Saving time/resources in the longer term.
• Integrating → increased awareness/referrals, sharing information.
• Piloting new ways handling referrals with GP surgeries.
