La serie tv targata MGM Alexis Bledel vince l'Emmy come Television ispirata all'omonimo romanzo di Margaret Atwood (in "Migliore attrice guest" per The italiano Il racconto dell'ancella), con Elisabeth Moss (Peggy Olson in Mad Handmaid's Tale. La serie tv Men, vincitrice del Golden Globe per Top of the Lake), Samira arriverà su TIMVISION dal 26 Wiley (Poussey in Orange is the new black), Ann Dowd (The Leftovers, Masters of Sex, Io e Marley) e Yvonne settembre Strahovski (Dexter, Chuck), arriverà in anteprima esclusiva per l'Italia su TIMVISION da martedì 26 settembre, dopo aver impressionato pubblico e critica di tutto il mondo. Insieme ad Elisabeth Moss ed Alexis Bledel, nel cast figurano anche Yvonne Strahovski, già protagonista di alcune serie cult degli ultimi anni come Dexter, Chuck e 24: Live another day, Joseph Fiennes (nomination a BAFTA e SAG per Shakespeare in Love, American Horror Story, Flash Forward, Il mercante di Venezia), Ann Dowd (The Leftovers, Masters of sex, Io e Marley, Philadelphia), Samira Wiley (Poussey in Orange is the new black), Madeline Brewer (Orange is the new black, Black Mirror), Max Minghella (The social network, The mindy project), Kristen Gutoskie (Seline in The vampire diaries). As more women are held in U.S. prisons each year, conditions of incarcerated women remain a concern. Cultivation theory of mass media research is discussed as a traditional model for explaining the effects of how heavy viewing of OITNB impacts the way college women see the conditions and behavior of inmates in the series as the way women are treated and behave in real prisons. Sexual abuse, racial segregation, mental illness, substance abuse, and assault by correctional officials are addressed. The study concluded that the number of episodes of OITNB viewed by college women did not predict the extent to which college women saw similarity in the treatment of women in OITNB and real world prisons. Keywords: women in prison, prison mental health, cultivation theory, incarceration of women in media 1.0 Introduction Social justice issues are one of the most polarizing and controversial debates in the United States, including what should be done with the penal system.

I engage with posthumanist theory and utilize narrative rhetorical criticism and the method of articulation to analyze a selection of ten episodes. Based on the textual analysis, I contend that each selected narrative reveals a unique hypothetical scenario that questions the humanist conceptualization of human nature in addition to envisioning potentials for challenging the common understanding of self, identity, subjectivity, and agency. With its controversial and multilayered articulations of the posthuman condition, I propose that this quality science fiction television program takes as its central theme the symbiotic technology/human relationship as the kernel of a co- constructed reality between these two actants in the digital age.

FLESH AND BLOOD DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT Flesh and Blood is what I like to call “reality cinema” which is a method of filmmaking I’ve experimented with and refined over the years. As an actor I’ve always been obsessed with realism in film and strived to make the characters I portray seem real. And so when I began my journey as a director I wanted to find a way to create the ideal filmmaking environment for realism. With my first feature, Explicit Ills, I discovered that by stripping away many of the bells and whistles found on a traditional film set it allowed a certain sense of authenticity to seep in. However, it was in my second feature, The End of Love, that my process really started to crystalize when I found the key element to my films: using real-life relationships from my personal life to investigate my greater purpose as an artist. When making the film I cast my own two- year-old son Isaac as the lead and built the entire script around our actual father-son dynamic as a way to put real love, pain, humor and vulnerability on screen.
