Harvest Appeal this year The Bishop’s Harvest Appeal aims to provide some much needed support to the tea plantation community in Sri Lanka via USPG; We , at Christ Church will have our main harvest service later on in October when we will make a collection for this. Our donation will be sent to the Bishop’s Chaplain at the Bishop’s Office in cheque format, made out to ‘USPG’ once all the cheques are in he will announce the total we, as a Diocese, raised and send it on to USPG.

Water in our kitchen area Unfortunately something has caused the water heater to split under the sink, damaging the units. The size of unit is no longer available. We are pursuing all ways of rectifying the situation as soon as possible. As no stop tap was put in, it has necessitated turning the water off completely to the kitchen. We have made a claim to the insurance company, unfortunately to keep costs of the insurance manageable (Premium currently of £1123.80 per year) we carry a £1,000 excess. –This was an expense which we absolutely did not need at this time!!
