The Professional Tax Solution Attention Antivirus Users: During pre-release testing, we experienced some inconsistencies in how Norton SONAR handles our program files. In some cases SONAR quarantines program files that it thinks are behaving suspiciously. In our case, however, this is a false positive which means our program files are quarantined when they should not be. We have worked diligently with the Symantec Security Response team and believe that these issues have been re- solved through their white listing program; however, we recommend that you update to the latest version of your Norton . After installing Drake 2015, and before you run the program for the first time, take the following steps to exclude the Drake program from SONAR scans: Adding Drake Program Files to SONAR Exclusion List 1. Open the Norton Antivirus manager. 2. Click Settings. 3. Under Antivirus and SONAR Exclusions, click the Configurelink for Items to Exclude from Auto Protect and SONAR Detection. 4. Click Add. 5. Click Browse to find the Drake 2015 program folder. 6. Find and select the \DRAKE15\ folder on the drive Drake was installed to. 7. Select the Include subfolders check box and click OK. 8. Norton Manager will prompt you for a confirmation to add the selected folder. Click OK. The selected folder is now added to the exclusion list. If you do experience a quarantine situation, where Norton removes a program file from its installed location, take the following steps to restore your files: Restoring the Quarantined Files 1. Open Norton Antivirus manager. 2. In the Security History window, in the Quarantine view, select the item that you want to restore. 3. In the Details pane, click Options. 4. In the Threat Detected window, do one of the following: a. Click Restore & exclude this file. This option returns the selected quarantine item to its original location with- out repairing it and excludes the item from being detected in the future scans. b. Click Restore. This option returns the selected quarantine item to its original location without repairing it. This option is available only for manually quarantined items 5. In the Quarantine Restore window, click Yes. In case of non-viral threats, you can use the option that is avail- able in this window to exclude the security risk. Norton Antivirus Online does not detect the security risks that you exclude in the future scans. 6. In the Browse for Folder dialog box, select the folder or drive where you want to restore the file and then click OK. 7. Click Close. To prevent further problems, add the full \Drake15\ directory to the exclusions list.
