General Information • Guaranteeing the strongest possible field, each tournament has its own week on the Senior Tour schedule • The field composition is designed to cater for the leading 54 ranked players, with selected invitations from the host country/event sponsor being incorporated into the field • Tournaments are played over 3 rounds of 18 holes, usually from Friday to Sunday • There is no cut and all players compete over 54 holes • Prize money won goes towards the player’s annual Order of Merit position • Pre-tournament Pro-Am’s may be held prior to the start of the tournament, normally on the Wednesday &Thursday • Junior Coaching Clinics can be held during tournament week, usually following play on the Friday • A variety of tournament formats are possible from Full Field to Match Play or Alliance 1 Pro + 1 Amateur in the first 2 tournament rounds European Senior Tour – Event Information

Tournament Administration • The European Senior Tour will provide a Tournament Director, Referees and a Secretary/Recorder to administer the operation of the golf tournament • The Tournament Director would visit the venue in advance and conduct a detailed planning meeting with the Promoter with follow-up meetings as required • A European SeniorTour Press Officer is available to be on site, upon request • All expenses for the SeniorTour officials should be covered by the Promoter/Sponsor

SeniorTo u r Fees

• The Senior Tour charges a sanction fee equal to 10% of the tournament prize money - to secure your date on the SeniorTour schedule • Field and Administrative Staff costs are charged separately • Sanction Fee to be paid on signature of agreement • Prize money to be paid in accordance to an agreed payment schedule • The Senior Tour would draw up a “Promoter’s Agreement” setting out the terms of the agreement to be signed by the Promoter European Senior Tour – Event Information

Television & New Media Rights • The European Senior Tour retains all audio, visual and audio-visual images of the tournament • European Tour Productions retain the International Television Rights to the tournament • Domestic TV rights for the Tournament are subject to discussion with the Promoter dependent on the territory and broadcasting arrangements in place for each country/region • The Promoter is responsible for paying for the Television production costs • A one hour highlights programme or same day highlights programme is the current SeniorTour television model

Promoter’s Commercial Rights • Exclusively retained by the Promoter and include rights to; • tournament naming rights • commercial branding & advertising • title/secondary/associate sponsors • official suppliers • pro-am • merchandise and licensing in the Commercial Village • Ancillary income - gate revenue, programme sales, drawsheet sales, car parking etc European Senior Tour – Event Information

The Golf Course

• Has to be of a reasonable length (circa 6,750 yards) and offer a ‘tough but fair’ challenge

• Should be reserved for the exclusive use of the tournament for the ‘tournament week’ (Sunday - Sunday)

• Must have a maintenance team and equipment capable of preparing the course to tournament standard

• The club maintenance team would be responsible for ensuring the golf course is at optimum condition for the week of the tournament

• Agronomy support can be provided on request (all expenses to be covered by the Promoter)

• The club would also need to provide:-

– a practice range wide enough for 25 players at any one time and at least 300 yards long

– a practice putting green and a chipping green

– Necessary staff and equipment to operate the practice range European Senior Tour – Event Information

Venue Facilities • Consideration should be given to the following requirements:-

– Clubhouse has to be available and reserved for the exclusive use of the tournament for the tournament week – Sufficient locker room space for the competitors and a private area for the Senior Tour physiotherapist – Secure storage areas for tournament equipment, players’ clubs etc – An area within the Clubhouse set aside as a Players Lounge – Suitable area to act as the SeniorTour office during the tournament week – Suitable area to act as the Recording Area for players to register their scores. Ideally close to the 18th green, but could be in the SeniorTour office if there’s sufficient space – An office for tournament operation/promoter – Press area offering facilities for local/national media (internet access, photocopying etc) – Suitable parking areas for players, members, media, sponsors and spectators European Senior Tour – Event Information

Stage Management • The following requirements should be taken into consideration by the Promoter for the successful staging of the tournament:-

– A courtesy car operation or shuttle bus service for players’ transportation from a) airport to hotel, b) hotel to course and c) course to airport – An on course player drinks service should be available throughout the tournament week – A players and family lounge serving food and beverage throughout the tournament week – Sufficient electric buggies for use by Referees and TV camera crew – Sufficient for use by the players – An on-site physiotherapist (unless provided by the Senior Tour) – Sufficient marshals and volunteer scorers – Live scoring service – Communication equipment – WIFI or sufficient fixed internet, telephone and fax lines – A high quality multi feed colour photocopier Event Format

The recommended event format is as follows:-

• Tuesday Players arrive

• Wednesday Sponsors/Suppliers Pro-Am – up to 24 teams comprising one professional and three amateurs per team

• Thursday Title Sponsors Pro-Am – up to 24 teams comprising one professional and three amateurs per team

• Friday First Round (54 professionals), Junior Coaching following play

• Saturday Second Round (54 professionals)

• Sunday Final Round (54 professionals)

Each pro-am may be followed by a prize-giving cocktail or social reception

Alternative tournament formats are possible and dependant upon the Venue and Sponsor requirements Budget

Guideline costs (EUR €) associated with delivering a European SeniorTo u r event are as follows:-

• Prize Fund € 350,000

• Sanction Fee € 35,000 (equal to 10% of the prize fund)

• Scoreboard/Staffing € 15,000

• Television Production € 35,000 ( Post Event Highlights Show)

• Logistics € 150,000 (at cost and dependent on the venue facilities and tournament services)

The costs listed above are variable and subject to the agreed prize fund, services provided, promoter requirements and local market rates

Savings can be made to the Logistical budget if the Venue provides services to the tournament e.g. food & drink, accommodation for staff , office space, pro-am prizes and clothing In Summary
