A city wide festival celebrating as Asia’s arts hub

(Hong Kong, 27 October 2016) Art Week – Autumn Edition was launched today with the unveiling of the beloved Hong Kong artist, Frog King’s, first ever Art Car. The car, managed by Hong Kong based race team KCMG, is a Le Mans Prototype racing car with an ORECA chassis and impressive Nissan engine. It made history in 2015 by winning the world's greatest sports car race - the Le Mans 24 Hours – a first for any Hong Kong team. The Art Car will be on display to the public in the PMQ Courtyard until 2 November.

The HKAGA is dedicated to supporting the city’s unique cultural community and highlighting why art matters, how it benefits society and how easy it is to explore art and culture in Hong Kong. It has put together an extensive programme of events for Autumn Week – Autumn Edition which has something has for everyone. Highlights include a two day Art Symposium, to be held at Asia Society and supported by the Mandarin Oriental, a community-wide Family Art Day run in partnership with Nike, Art Loop, Arts Plus, Affordable Art Fair, K11 and the Asia Society in Tamar Park, Art Day at South Island which will include 18 studios and galleries, (a free bus shuttle service will run from Central and also from Wong Chuk Hang to Tin Wan), and Art Treasure Hunts through the city’s art districts with a dedicated mobile map app that guides users around cultural highlights and galleries in the city.

On top of all that don’t miss the Gallery Walk for Charity that will see over 40 galleries from Central, & open for an exciting evening which also includes over 25 surprise artist performances, live music and street art. With tasty bites by some of Hong Kong’s best neighbourhood restaurants and drinks supplied by Absolut, Peroni & Pont des Arts wines, expect a festive artsy atmosphere. It will be a fun night of art exploration and discovery.
