Entry Point North is one of the largest global ATS academies. The premier training solutions we offer our clients are carried out in accordance with Best Practice and all international rules and standards including ICAO and European Commission.

Entry Point North is a total training solution provider. We offer a wide portfolio of training and services to aspiring and operational air traffic controllers, air traffic service officers, air traffic safety electronics, administrative and other aviation-related personnel. Training is delivered at our modern facilities in Sweden, Ireland, Hungary, Denmark and at client sites. It has more than 100 employees and ATM consultants originating from over 19 countries and is delivering training for more than 3300 students yearly.

2.1 Location Entry Point North is located in the heart of the beautiful southern Swedish province of Scania/Skåne; situated across the Oresund bridge from Copenhagen in Denmark. The proximity to Copenhagen International Airport and Malmö makes Entry Point North easily accessible by train, plane, bus and by car. Typical transit time between Copenhagen International Airport and Entry Point North is approximately 40 minutes by car.

The Academy itself occupies more than 6,700 m2 of specially equipped training facilities at Malmö- Sturup Airport. Right next to the Entry Point North building is the control tower for Malmö Airport as well as the Air Traffic Control Centre for the southern part of Sweden.

3 TRANSPORTATION

3.1 From Malmö or Lund city centre

BY BUS When travelling from Malmö city centre or Lund, take the bus called “Flygbuss” to Malmö Airport. The journey takes approx. 40 min. Departure times can be found at: http://www.flygbussarna.se/en. The bus stops at several places along the way:

Malmö bus stops: Malmö Central station - Studentgatan - Triangeln - Södervärn - Persborg - Jägersro Center - Svedala E65 - Malmö Airport

Lund bus stops: Lund Central station - Univeritetssjukhus - LTH - Ideon - Höjdpunkten - Råby Trafikplats - Staffanstorp - Malmö Airport

Tickets may be bought as follows: - Pressbyrån shops (www.pressbyran.se) or Skånetrafiken customer centres (www.skanetrafiken.se). Skånetrafiken offices are located both at Malmö and Lund Central Stations and also at Triangeln station in Malmö; a Pressbyrån shop is also located inside the departure terminal at Malmö Airport. - On the bus - only credit cards (no cash is accepted). - In advance via internet at www.flygbussarna.se. It is often cheaper than the options above. - In some cases jojo cards are provided by Entry Point North - please check the course information you obtained from the course administrator before purchasing one.

* All prices provided here are valid in August 2016 and are subject to change. ** The 10 trip ticket is available to purchase at Malmö Airport Visitor Centre or at http://www.flygbussarna.se/en/malmo *** The 30 day ticket is the most economical option if you are travelling to and from the academy over a longer period of time. The card you need to buy is called jojo “Län Skåne plus Sturup 30D”. In order to purchase it, you need to show your student confirmation letter. Ask your course administrator to send you the confirmation letter in advance. The card is valid for 30 days from a start date of your choice. The first time you buy the card it has to be bought at Skånetrafiken Customer Centre located either at Malmö Central Station, Triangeln Station or Lund Central Station. The jojo card can be used to travel on all busses and trains within the Skåne region.

The bus stops in front of Malmö Airport at the terminal entrance. To get to the academy, you need to walk towards the ATC tower. You will see the Entry Point North building across the street. Turn left into Västerlånggatan and after approximately 50 metres turn right. It is just a 5 min. walk from the terminal.

BY CAR From Malmö: Entry Point North is located approx. 30 km from Malmö City centre. The distance is equivalent to 30 minutes by car. Follow directions to route E65 for Malmö Airport (called Sturup). Entry Point North is the first yellow building on the right as you enter the Airport area.

From Lund: Entry Point North is located approx. 26 km from Lund City centre. The distance is equivalent to 35 minutes by car. Follow the road signs for the 108 road towards Malmö Airport (Sturup). Turn left onto Norra Sturupsvägen and continue for 7.3 kilometres. Turn left onto Södra Sturupsvägen and continue for 1.1 kilometres. Then turn right at Västerlångvägen. Entry Point North's yellow building is located across the road from the airport control tower.

BY TAXI It costs approx. 400 SEK*1for 1-4 people to take a taxi from Malmö Central Station or Lund Central Station to Malmö Airport.

3.2 From Copenhagen Airport BY TRAIN Take the train (Öresundståg) to Malmö Central Station. A train ticket costs approx. 110 SEK* (one way) and you need to purchase it at either the ticket booth or the Skånetrafiken ticket machine at the Airport before you board the train (you can use credit card or cash). It is not possible to purchase tickets on the train. The Copenhagen Airport-Malmö Central train journey takes only 21 minutes (please note that as of January 2016 all passengers coming from Copenhagen Airport to Malmö need to show a valid ID before boarding a train at Copenhagen Airport and when arriving to Hyllie station in Sweden which can prolong the travel time between the two cities). From Malmö Central station you can take a bus to Malmö Airport (see section 3.1).

BY CAR Entry Point North is located approx. 52 km from Copenhagen Airport. The distance is equivalent to 40 minutes by car (please note that as of January 2016 all passengers crossing the bridge need to show a valid ID before entering Sweden which can prolong the travel time between the two cities). Take the E22 motorway over the Öresund Bridge and continue along the E22 for 19.3 km. Then turn onto route E65 towards Ystad and Malmö Airport (Sturup). Drive for 17.2 km then turn left at the roundabout towards Sturup onto Södra Sturupsvägen and continue for 3.4 kilometres. Turn right at Västerlångvägen, where you should be able to see the ATC tower and Entry Point North’s yellow building.

BY TAXI It costs approx. 1000-1200 SEK* for 1-4 people to take a taxi from Copenhagen Airport to Malmö Airport.

3.3 Parking In case you plan to arrive to Entry Point North by car, you will need a special parking permit to park in the airport area. 1) After receiving the official course invitation, please contact your course administrator and ask for a student confirmation letter. 2) Upon your arrival, go to the Malmö Airport Visitor Centre (located at the terminal) together with the student confirmation. There you can purchase one of the following parking permits:  One day parking permit costs 25 SEK*.  Monthly parking permit costs 85 SEK* (Entry Point North’s students are entitled to a 60% discount from the regular price 210 SEK*). This parking permit can be purchased for a period of several months if desired. Please note that the monthly parking permit is always valid for a calendar month, not for 30 days.

3.4 Local transportation The tickets for local busses and trains may be bought as follows:  Ticket machine – you can pay by card, by jojo card (you need to put money on the card first) or in cash, please note that the ticket machines are not available at all bus stops  Skånetrafiken centre or newsagents (7-Eleven, Pressbyrån,…)  Online/Mobile Phone app – you can purchase your ticket online or via Skånetrafiken mobile phone application and pay by credit card

 If you already have a jojo 30-day card (“Skåne plus Sturup”), you can use all busses and trains in Skåne region (see also section 3.1).

Please note that you won’t be able to purchase a ticket on board the train, you need to use one of the above mentioned options. Please note that you can pay by credit card on yellow regional busses, on other busses only by jojo card.

For more information on local transportation please follow the link: www.skanetrafiken.se. It is recommended that you register your pre-charged jojo card on the same website – this allows you to block your jojo card in case you lose it (i.e. get a new one without losing any money).

4 ENTRY POINT NORTH FACILITIES

Entry Point North’s facilities comprise: simulator rooms, offices, two kitchens, conference rooms, nine classrooms and communal space. The building has two floors and is equipped with an elevator.

The building is locked for your safety. You will receive a badge that will enable you to get in and out. If you have not been issued with a badge, or do not have your badge with you, reception desk staff can let you in. The reception is manned during office hours. You are welcome to stay in the school building before or after class if you like. The automatic alarm system is activated during the late evening and night.

Classrooms All classrooms are equipped with a computer, projector, white board and access to the internal network. Access to a wireless network is available throughout the building and there are 40 laptops that are used for Computer Based Training. The standard classrooms within Entry Point North seat 20 students. There are two larger classrooms (lecture rooms) each of which can accommodate up to 40 people comfortably.

Conference rooms There are three large and four smaller conference rooms all equipped with whiteboards. The larger rooms have a projector and access to the internal network.

Kitchens There are two kitchens – one on each floor – for use by students, instructors and other staff. The kitchens are equipped with microwave ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, cutlery and crockery, etc. Free coffee and tea are available for all on each floor. Water dispensers with fresh still and sparkling water are also located in the kitchen areas.

Communal areas On both floors there are areas set aside for communal use, equipped with sofas and tables. On the upper floor there are a number of small study rooms (“cells”), which can be used by students and temporary personnel. There is also a dedicated instructor room where students are not permitted. However, the Academy is designed with multiple open plan areas where students, instructors and employees can interact together socially. The study cells equipped with computers are available for everyone to use. Throughout the building students are provided with access to PCs and high speed Internet.

Other All trainees and instructors have the possibility of using a locker for personal belongings.

4.3 Instructions regarding evacuation

As a course supervisor, teacher, instructor, employee and student at Entry Point North, you have many obligations. One of them is to know about preventive fire protection and what is required of you if there is a fire alarm or you discover a fire.

When working and studying at Entry Point North: · You must locate the nearest emergency exit and escape route. · You must locate the nearest fire extinguisher. · You must locate the assembly point, situated in front of the main entrance. A blue sign reading ASSEMBLY POINT.

Q: What do you do when you hear the fire alarm? A: Leave the building via the nearest escape route. Q: Where do you go? A: To the Assembly Point.

Instructors and teachers report the student status to the course supervisor. Course supervisor reports to the responsible person in the yellow vest or his/her helper. Head of departments or their substitutes report status to yellow vest. Students shall evacuate and go to the Assembly Point and wait for further instructions.

It is the responsibility of all: · to help each other · check that the fire alarm is noticed · check the area close to you · however do not to risk your own life

4.4 House rules Please remember that many people – students, consultants and permanent staff – share the space within the building. In order for everyone to feel comfortable, we have simple house rules that we ask everyone to abide by.

1. Kitchen areas are provided for eating and drinking. Bringing food and drink into the classrooms shall be at the discretion of the course supervisors. No food or drink is permitted in the simulation areas!

2. Remove all belongings when leaving the classrooms and simulators. Rearrange the chairs, tables and equipment back to the way you found them. All litter should be placed in the bins.

3. Dispose of all empty paper coffee cups in the bins provided. Keep the kitchen area clean and tidy: wipe up food or drink spillages and wash dirty plates and cutlery.

4. Take care of the academy’s material and equipment.

5. The classroom computers are used for lessons only and are not intended for general internet surfing. Personal internet usage may be carried out using the student computers provided or the computers in the CBT room when they are available.

6. Be on time for lessons, simulator exercises and other common activities. Come prepared for the session. Bring with you the things you may need.

7. Mobile phones shall be switched off or silent during lessons. Mobile phone signals can cause interference to other simulators nearby. Be considerate – when in the simulator SWITCH PHONES OFF!

8. Leave any outdoor clothes in the designated area or in your locker. To protect the floor in the simulators, wear shoe protection during winter months.

9. Please do NOT put feet or dirty shoes on the tables or sofas. Sleeping is not allowed in the sofas.

There are fridges and microwave ovens in Entry Point North’s kitchens on both floors if you prefer to bring your own lunch.

There is a restaurant at the airport (5 min. walk from the academy) that serves daily menu for 79 SEK*. The menu contains a choice of two warm dishes, a salad buffet, beverages and coffee. You can purchase a 10-lunch card for 792 SEK*, getting the 11th lunch for free. There is also a fast food restaurant serving hot dogs and burgers.

Inside the departures terminal you can also find a small shop called Pressbyrån that offers fast food such as hot dogs, freshly baked bread, pastries and sandwiches. 7-Eleven shop offers fast food such as hot dogs with freshly baked buns, pizza, pies, sandwiches, pasta dishes etc.

There are several restaurants in Svedala, a town located approx. 10 km from Sturup airport and also in the vicinity of the airport:  Niyoms kök - Thai restaurant, approx. 8 km from Sturup airport in a direction to Lund, lunch menu is available for 55 SEK*: http://www.niyomskok.se/.  Anita på Börringekloster – Swedish restaurant serving mainly organic dishes from local ingredients, approx. 5km from Sturup airport in a direction to Ystad, lunch menu is available for 109 SEK*http://www.zieme.se/index.html

6 STUDENT SUPPORT

The Student support and confidentiality group is a neutral forum where students can discuss any matter with people that do not assess them. The group provides individual support through discussions. The group members are not psychologists. They are here to offer the students a listening ear and to offer their assistance. The group follows the ethical principle of confidentiality.

The group is selected from employees of Entry Point North. The group consists of people that work closely with various courses that Entry Point North provides, but on different levels. The group’s composition of different genders is intentional so that the students can find a person that they are comfortable with.

Outside the Academy you can contact the emergency services (Fire/Rescue, Ambulance or Police) by dialling 112. The non-urgent number for contacting Police is (040) 11414.

Hospitals are called “Sjukhus” in Sweden. In Malmö city: Skånes universitetssjukhus, Södra Förstadsgatan 101, 205 02 Malmö In Lund city: Skånes universitetssjukhus, Getingevägen 4, 221 85 Lund You can find information at: www.skane.se/sus. However, if you need urgent medical assistance, call 112. If you need to visit a doctor or dentist, but it is not an urgent case, please contact your training supervisor for advice. A lot of useful information can be also obtained at www.1177.se or by calling 1177, the “1177 Vårdguiden” service.

The pharmacies are called “Apotek” and are open: Mon-Fri 9am - 6pm; Sat 10am - 2pm. The pharmacy "Apoteket Gripen" on Bergsgatan 48 is open 7 days a week between 8am and 11pm. Sweden has stricter rules regarding over the counter purchase of medicines than many other European countries - a doctor’s prescription is needed to purchase medicines that you may be used to buying over the counter back home.

8 OTHER INFORMATION

8.1 Things to do Malmö is the commercial centre of southern Sweden and an international city. It is Sweden's third largest city with a population of 320,000 people. It has more parks, gardens and restaurants per capita than any other city in Sweden. Malmö also features many attractions dating back to the Middle Ages. You will find a list of useful contacts and places you can visit during your stay here!

Bike rental As of June 2016, it is possible to rent a bike with “Malmö by bike” for one hour at the time at one of the 48 pick-up/drop-off stations all over the city. Currency Exchange, Money Transfer and Banks At the FOREX Exchange Office you can exchange currencies free of charge. Cinema In Sweden, foreign movies are always shown in the original language with Swedish subtitles (movies are not dubbed). It is hence easy for foreigners to see any movie which is originally in English language in Sweden.  www.sf.se  www.biografspegeln.se

Sports Malmö has many parks. It is common to see people jogging, rollerblading, cycling or walking. Malmö is a bicycle friendly city – you will see many people cycling around the city even during winter. Maps of bicycle routes are available from the tourist office. There is also a new swimming centre called Hylliebadet (opened in 2015) with one 50-metre pool, two training pools, family pools with water slides and a relaxation area with sauna, cold and warm water pools, and an outdoor pool. Mobile Phone number: Many supermarkets, petrol stations and kiosks sell top up mobile subscriptions without lengthy commitment. Check the shops for the best suitable solution for you.

Shopping Malmö has a large selection of designer boutiques as well as young, trendy fashion shops. The pedestrian walking area where most of the shops are located, stretches from the Main Square (Stortorget) through Gustav Adolf Square and further down Södra Förstadsgatan to Triangeln and Möllevången. Möllevångenstorget is also a venue for a fruit and vegetables market – every day except for Sunday in the morning hours. Most of the area is free from traffic. Most shops are open Mon-Fri 10am – 6pm, Sat 10am – 4pm and Sun 12pm – 3pm.

There are also several shopping centres in Malmö. One of the biggest shopping malls in Scandinavia, Emporia, is near Malmö Arena and Hyllie railway station – www.emporia.se. At Triangeln station you will find another shopping centre – www.triangeln.com. Mobilia shopping centre can be found not far from Södervärn bus stop – www.mobilia.se.
