Distinguished Eagle Scout Award loyal The Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America, upon the approval of the National Eagle Scout Association, has the distinction and privilege to bestow the rank and honor of Distinguished Eagle Scout to S. Alan Ray, President of Elmhurst College. The Distinguished Eagle Scout Award (DESA) is granted to Eagle Scouts who, after 25 years, have distinguished themselves in their life work and who have shared their talents with their communities on a voluntary basis. Dr. Ray has dedicated his life to academia, teaching young people, supporting the HIV/AIDS communities, and performing distinguished service to Native American communities, especially to the Cherokee Nation of which he is a citizen.

The Three Fires Council will be holding a special Distinguished Eagle Scout Award Luncheon on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the River Forest Country Club in Elmhurst to honor S. Alan

Ray. This event will also serve as a benefit for the Three Fires Council to support the Council‘s outreach efforts and to provide support and resources for a quality program. Tickets for this event are on sale for $150 and table sponsorships are available. Three Fires Council Annual Meeting The Three Fires Council Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, June 17th at the Wyndham Hotel and Executive Meeting Center. The meeting is held to elect officers and board members for the upcoming year, along with receiving reports on the condition of the Council. The registration deadline is Tuesday, June 8, 2010.
