Full-Time Faculty 140 2 Introduction History of the Seminary Indiana Wesleyan University itself (IWU) was founded in 1920 as “Marion College” and is an evangelical Christian comprehensive university committed to liberal arts and professional education. The university at large has around 15,000 students and is thus the largest private university in the State of Indiana. Over 3000 currently attend its Marion campus. Marion College received its initial accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in 1966. -

These three letters often strike fear into the heart of the budding Asburian. Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to quell these rumors with a great experience online this semester! This is now my fourth time teaching this course, and I am excited about it. On the one hand, I'm excited because we're talking about the Bible here, the Gospel of Matthew in particular. I'm selfishly excited to delve into a book that I don't normally teach when I'm not adjuncting for Asbury (I'm much more of an "epistle's man" when I'm not donning the cape of an Asbury professor). -

Different IBS Professors do things differently I have designed this course with the intent of being somewhat innovative with its pedagogy. In general, this course will involve more group work/collaborative learning and more engagement with New Testament scholarship than most IBS courses do. 2. This course assumes basic awareness of IBS method While we will review the method at every point (and then extend our knowledge, hopefully), it is worth mentioning that this course does assume you have had the basic Matthew or Mark introductory course. -

Different IBS Professors do things differently I respect the other IBS professors immensely. That means that in many cases, if you prefer to do things their way, that's fine. In fact, I love to hear how they have you do things--I can learn then too! 2. This course assumes awareness of IBS method While we will review the Asbury IBS method at every point, it is worth mentioning that this course does assume you have had the basic Matthew or Mark introductory course. If you have never had Asbury IBS 1, you should drop this course! I am a charitable soul and am always willing to help in theory. -
