Countdown Cambridge is taking part in a national campaign to send messages of support to the New Zealand Olympic Team. They are giving customers the opportunity to write on stickers, which get added to a giant poster in store. Senior Administrator Manager Chris Renata said they had already filled a couple of posters. The checkout team have flag stickers that they have been handing out as people pay for their groceries. ‘‘They’re going to be sent to the Olympians so they can read all of the support from the customers,’’ she said. It doesn’t matter how much or how little a cus- tomer spends, she said, anyone and everyone can write a message. It has been going since Monday July 4, and will finish on Sunday July 24. The messages will be shared with the Olympians through the NZOC Facebook page, and the Road to Rio Newsletter. Five current world champions will spearhead the New Zealand cycling team to next month’s Rio , announced by the New Zealand Olympic Committee.
