Known as the “Coconut Coast”, the area is char-ac- terized by being an ideal place to unwind and get away from it all, where the play a starring role. The area is divided into nine diffe- rent beaches. From Playa de Arena Gorda (Thick Sand Beach) to the north all the way to Juanillo beach, at the opposite end of the cape. But of course, the most visited part of the entire area is the renowned Bavaro Beach, which many have described as the best beach in the Caribbean. It is easily accessible by transfer or taxi. WEATHER At Punta Cana, summer lasts almost all year long. The climate is tropical and the temperature ranges from 75ºF to 95ºF. The waters are warm, reaching close to 80ºF. There is a “dry” season from December to April. The beaches are a mild 70°F in the winter months, and the Caribbean waters are ideal for bathing all year round CURRENCY The local currency is the Dominican peso.
