PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Our year 5 and 6 students had a lovely day at the peer support training day with Mrs Moore and Mrs Popple on Thursday. Students learnt a lot about being an effective leader. Our next leadership training day will be the GRIP leadership conference in Wagga in Term 2.

What fabulous community involvement we have at Matong Public School. Your recent attendance at our community events at the Ride2School day, student goal setting, school planning events, KidsMatter Action Team and Messy Easter, show students that the community are interested in their school and feel welcome to attend and join the fun. Thanks again to Mrs Evans for organising this wonderful event.

Early next term our students will be involved in preparing and presenting their student portfolios to share with their families. We plan to organise this together with a Mother’s Day morning tea. We are looking forward to celebrating your child’s learning.

Our next big sporting events will be x-country and athletics carnivals early Term 2. Students are already in training for x-country in sport times and are encouraged to build up their fitness over the holidays as the carnival is Thursday 23rd April, Week 1 next term.

Staff and students have enjoyed having Mrs Annie Crocker with us for Term 1 working with our Stage One students. Thank you Annie for all your hard work and contributions to our school. We wish you all the best for the future.

I hope you all have a great week and enjoy a restful and safe holiday period.
