Radford Visits Lindenwood Radford University recently visited our campus in hopes of learning about the growth and success of our University. Belleville to Host EdCamp Belleville will host Southern Illinois EdCamp, a professional development opportunity for educators, from 8:00 AM until noon on Wednesday, June 27 on the Belleville campus. EdCamp is a national movement of “unconference” professional development meetings held across the country. Read more

New Issue of the Lindenwood Review Issue 8 of The Lindenwood Review literary journal is now available. This issue includes the winners of our Chapter One contest, along with short stories, personal essays, and poetry from writers in the US, Canada, and England. Power Hour The Athletic Performance Staff is starting a program they call “Power Hour!” The sessions include training with coaches, staff, and faculty at the Fitness Center starting June 4, and running each Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon. The purpose of the Power Hour is to have fun training and encouraging each other while bringing people together from different departments to help build community and foster supportive relationships throughout the university.

Library and Writing Center Present at Conference During the annual MOBIUS Conference on June 5, staff from the Lindenwood Library Services and Writing Center will present two separate discussions on the work being done to better serve the community. Paul Huffman will present with three other librarians from around the state on building a shared Overdrive collection. Sue Edele, Liz MacDonald, and Nancy Messina will present on their joint effort to create a Library and Writing Center strategic plan to serve the needs of the Lindenwood Community.

Falco as New Women’s Coach Katie Falco has been named the head coach of the women's basketball program. Falco will be the second head coach for the Lions in the NCAA era of Lindenwood athletics. Falco comes to Lindenwood after spending the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA DI South Dakota State. Read more

Trio of Lions Selected for IWLCA All-Star Game Three members of the women's lacrosse team were selected to participate at the 2018 IWLCA Senior All- Star Game at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, MD. Sophie Buelow, Allison Hurley, and Rachel Ortell were each chosen to represent Lindenwood in the game. Read more

Currier as Finalist for Ken B. Jones Award Men's golfer Brad Currier was named a finalist for the Ken B. Jones Award. He is the first Lindenwood student-athlete to be named a finalist for the award, which goes to the top male and female student-athlete in the MIAA for the most recent school year. Read more

NCAA National Championships First Appearance The women's golf team concluded its first appearance in program history at the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships. The Lions competed over four days and four rounds at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, TX. Read more

Finalists for Life of Significance Award Rugby athletes Caring De Freitas and Cristian Rodriguez are two of this year's finalists for Penn State’s Life of Significance Award. This award is given out annually to a collegiate rugby player participating in the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship. Read more

Football Hosts Mega Camp The football program is hosting a Mega Camp! Scheduled to attend are 76 NCAA Division I, II and III colleges and . Fifteen Power-5 programs will be in attendance such as the University of Texas, Penn State, and Ohio State to name a few. Over the two day camp, there will be 1,300 student-athlete prospects on campus participating! Read more

Elmes’ Articles Accepted for Publication Melissa Ridley Elmes, assistant professor of English, has had two articles accepted for publication in peer- reviewed journals this spring. The first, “Compassion and Benignytee: A Reassessment of the Relationship Between Canacee and the Falcon in Geoffrey Chaucer’s Squire’s Tale” will appear in Medieval Feminist Forum. “Public Displays of Affliction: Women’s Wounds in Sir Thomas Malory’s Morte Darthur" has been accepted for publication in Modern Philology.

Special Olympics Accolades for Belleville Special Olympics Illinois recently named Lindenwood University-Belleville as its Organization of the Year. This designation recognizes a club, business, facility, or organization whose efforts have significantly improved the experience of those who participate in Special Olympics. This includes donating facilities, volunteers, time, or money to the program. Read more

Alumnus Wins First Professional Bowling Title Former Lindenwood bowler Cristian Azcona won his first Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) title May 20 at the PBA Xtra Frame Wilmington Open at Ten Pin Alley Family Fun Center in Wilmington, NC! Weber as Central Region Coach of the Year Women's golf coach Abby Weber was selected as the Division II Golf Pride Central Region Coach of the Year. Weber guided her program to its first ever appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championships this season. Read more
