Herbert Cheever, Jr. has been appointed an ex-officio member and secretary of the Museum Board. He replaces Rex Myers on the Board and as dean of the College of Arts and Science at South Dakota State University. Myers is now dean of academic affairs at Lyndon State College in Vermont. Cheever was born in Brookings, studied at Carleton College, South Dakota State, and the University of Iowa, and has taught Charles Greener at work on political science at SDSU since 1968.
