Final Last Fling Main Stage Acts Named ­ Tickets On Sale Now!

Naperville (July 27, 2006) – The Naperville Jaycees have confirmed as the final headliner for the Last Fling’s main stage on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at 8pm. Opening will be Josh Kelley at 6pm.

Collective Soul, a returning favorite from last year, has had seven #1 hits on the Billboard Rock Tracks charts. Hits include: “Gel”, “Shine,” the soaring ballad “,” “Blame,” “December,” “” and last year’s hit “Better Now”.

Critically acclaimed singer­ Josh Kelley just released a new album “Just Say the Word” in June and the single “Almost Honest” has received wide­acclaim from critics. People Magazine called Kelley, “the real deal, a genuine talent who brings sincere emotion to his straight­forward pop rock.”

Last Fling 2006 is being held Friday, September 1 through Monday, September 4 in downtown Naperville and patrons will enjoy a variety of music to celebrate the end of summer in Naperville. Headliners also include .38 Special on Friday night and Everclear on Saturday night. Opening band information is available at www.lastfling.org.

Monday‘s show is free, but the premier shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on Rotary Hill will require tickets. Tickets for children 11 and under are free, but they will need a ticket for entry. To best manage the Rotary Hill capacity, the Jaycees are selling tickets in advance. There is a possibility of tickets selling out before the Last Fling, so don’t wait until the weekend of the Fling to get them. If you have a ticket, you will not be turned away.

All entertainment on the Entertainment Stage on Jackson Street will be FREE and will again feature area favorites like Kimi Hayes and Michael Heaton plus other acts new to the Last Fling.

The Last Fling is the Naperville Jaycees’ major fund­raising event of the year. Each year, they host the city’s annual Labor Day festival, a wholesome, family event, with the entire community participating. More than 300,000 patrons visit over the 4­day event, which is held along Naperville’s Riverwalk area. Starting Friday afternoon and running through Monday evening, there are special events, carnival rides and attractions, a children’s playland, food and beverage vendors, a business expo and concerts on two stages each evening. The Labor Day parade is also part of the festivities. A free shuttle service will also be available.

The Naperville Jaycees is a non­profit service organization with over 200 young persons dedicated to personal development through community service. The group organizes and staffs the Last Fling in close cooperation with the City of Naperville, the Naperville Park District, numerous Naperville community organizations and tons of volunteers. Proceeds from the Last Fling are given to non­profit organizations in the community and throughout DuPage County.
