DAVIDE MASSAFRA TECHNICAL DIRECTOR - UEFA B LICENSED COACH

Our Technical Director is a professional coach and athletic trainer from Italy, whose vast experiences throughout Europe, the U.S.A. and Canada makes him ideally suited for this role. Davide’s coaching and athletic training career began in Italy, where his unsurpassed passion for the sport of soccer led him to take on Head Coaching roles in Spain, Romania and England before eventually coming over to North America. In addition to coaching, Davide also took on the role of International Scout for Ascoli Soccer Academy and later Empoli FC, both of which enabled him to work with youth from all parts of the globe. After seasons of being the Head Coach for teams in Seattle and Thunder Bay, Davide is currently the Technical Director for Empire Niagara Soccer Academy and Director of the Empire U.S. Development Academy. His expertise continues to be highly sought after, as he was recently called upon by the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) of the United States to lead their International Combine as its Technical Director. Davide’s extensive knowledge attained through his professional licenses and degrees, multitude of varied experiences and intense motivation to help others achieve their personal soccer goals, makes him an inspirational leader for our staff and campers.

KATE SHAW GIRLS DIRECTOR AND HEAD COACH

Currently, Kate is a Ridley College faculty member (Ontario Certified Teacher) and head coach of the U14 Boys and Girls teams. Her passion for soccer began as a youth player in the Burlington Youth Soccer club, where her team won the National Championship. She was then recruited by the University of Northern Iowa on a full NCAA Division 1 scholarship where as team captain, she led her team through four seasons. Kate then joined the Women’s English Premier League with Keynsham Town Ladies Football Club, now a member of the Southern Division of the National League. She then went on to play in Manila.

In addition to her playing career, Kate has embraced coaching for over 10 years, leading both boys’ and girls’ youth teams in Aleppo, Syria; Manila, Philippines; Prague, Czech Republic and now in Canada at Ridley College. This notable coaching history, in addition to her impressive professional playing career experience and knowledge in teaching pedagogy, clearly illustrates Kate’s powerful impact as a member of our coaching staff.

FEDERICO TURRIZIANI

BOYS DIRECTOR AND HEAD COACH - UEFA B LICENSED

Federico hails from Perugia, Italy and has a long, accomplished list of soccer coaching experiences. In 2002, Federico began coaching at the A.C. Perugia Academy (Serie A -B). He then progressed to coach for San Sisto, A.C. Torgiano and Ascoli Soccer Academy. After leading numerous teams to victory, Federico landed as Head Coach for the First team at A.C. Cesena and then later for Empoli F.C. Academy. In 2013, Federico moved to Canada to be the Technical Director for York Region Shooters and the Head Coach for the U21 Ontario Cup finalists. Since then, he has been a sought after coach in Europe, the U.S. and Canada, as he has taken positions with Catania Calcio, U.S. Centese Calcio, Empire Soccer Academy and most recently as an International Combine Coach with the U.S. WPSL. He also earned the role of Sics Match Analyst and is their official representative for USA and Canada. This impressive coaching experience, combined with the knowledge amassed through his professional licenses, makes Federico a dynamic addition to our coaching staff.

EMANUELE AMELTONIS GOAL KEEPER COACH- UEFA B LICENSED

Born in Italy, Emanuele quickly embraced soccer—in particular, the position of goalkeeper. In 2004, he began his professional soccer career in Serie C with Lega Pro. After playing over 150 official games, he signed a contract with A.C. Siena in the Italian Serie A. Six years later, Emanuele moved to Canada where he won the in 2014, establishing a new league record with 21 unbeaten consecutive games (first undefeated season in League history)! Also, in 2014, Emanuele founded the Next Generation Keepers school in . His mission was to help goalkeepers aged 7 to 18 (both boys and girls) succeed in the competitive world of soccer. With his UEFA B license issued by F.I.G.C. (Italian Soccer Federation) in 2016, Emanuele continues to offer goalkeeper training programs, camps and clinics with international guests all year round in Ontario and overseas. His school is responsible for the safety and training of over 100 keepers each season. We are thrilled to have a such a high-calibre professional, licensed Goalkeeper Coach on our staff!
