To access digital , you will need:

 A Blount County Public Library card.

 Brief access to the internet WI-FI.

 Free software downloaded to your device.

Please note that digital books can be downloaded and enjoyed at home, at work, or when you travel, but are generally not for use on the computers in the library. You can read e-books on the library computers using the Overdrive Read option which does not download the book.

TO BEGIN

 Read your device manual and then become familiar with the buttons and icons and settings.

 Get to know where R.E.A.D.S. is on the BCPL website (www.blountlibrary.org). At the library home page go to E-Library. From the drop down menu select E-books: R.E.A.D.S.. Click on the word R.E.AD.S at the top of the page to go to the catalog.

 Look through the catalog and check out all the ways to search for books.

 R..E.A.D.S. downloads books using WIFI only.

 Devices need to be charged above 30% to download.

 If you wish to read Kindle books, set up an Account, and look over Manage My Kindle. You will need to download the Kindle App.

 When coming to the library for an e-reader class or the Reference Desk for help you will need to bring:

transferred to iTunes, then downloaded to your device. GETTING STARTED Step 1 Download the OverDrive app from one of the following:  ANDROID: Google Play  APPLE: Apple App Store  KOBO: Google Play

 NOOK: Google Play or Nook Apps Store

 Kindle: Amazon App Store

Step 2 Open the OverDrive app and follow the prompts to create an OverDrive account and log in. If you're under 13, select I am under 13 years old instead.  Only newer versions of the OverDrive app will prompt you to sign in or sign up for an OverDrive account.  If you're using an older version of the OverDrive app, you'll need to download an *Adobe App and authorize your device with an Adobe ID to download EPUB eBooks.

Step 3 Open Overdrive and find your library by typing either Ocoee or 37804 in library search.  In newer versions of the app, you can do this by swiping from left to right to open the Home menu, then taping Add a library.  In older versions of the app, tap the Get books+ button, then Add a library.  Tap the star to turn it gold and save your library's website to your library list.  Tap TENNESSEE READS to start browsing.

Step 4 Log into The BCPL OverDrive-powered website with your library card. Search the catalog for a book and either borrow or put an item on hold.

Step 5  Find borrowed books under your account bookshelf.  Download EPUB eBooks* and MP3 audiobooks directly to OverDrive Media Console.  Add streaming videos to the OverDrive app.

If you've installed the Kindle app from the Google Play store, you can select Kindle Book (U.S. only) to complete checkout on Amazon's website (zero cost) and send the book to your Kindle reading app.

Note: Some digital formats may not be available from all .
