Thirsk and Northallerton are vibrant market towns in North Yorkshire.
Thirsk is famous for its race course and 15 th Century Church but is perhaps most well known as being the Darrowby of the late James Herriot (Alf Wight), famous vet and author.
Northallerton is the home of North Yorkshire County Council making it the administrative centre of North Yorkshire.
Thirsk and Northallerton are set in the centre of "Herriot Country", gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the west and the North York Moors National Park to the east.
