REPAIRING, DESIGNING AND CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW LANDFILL IN VINČA IN BELGRADE Energoprojekt Niskogradnja signed a contract with Investor Beo Čista Energija Ltd. for the project Rehabilitation of the existing landfill, design and construction of a new landfill in Vinča in Belgrade in the value of EUR43.11 million. The prestigious economic and business magazine Business and Finance publishes its traditional annual edition BUSINESS TOP 2016/2017, which lists the largest companies in Serbia. Based on the business income ranking, Energoprojekt Niskogradnja Plc. was ranked 78th out of 150, and 147th in the profit ranking. In the micro, small and medium size companies, Energoprojekt Entel was ranked 93rd based on the profit. The same magazine traditionally prepares a publication that contains consolidated balance sheets for profit and business income - Energoprojekt Holding Plc. took 21st place based on the consolidated income and 36th place based on the profit.

Recently founded company "Beo čista energija d.o.o.Beograd", consisting of the consortium"Suez groupe S.A.S." and "I-environment investments ltd", signed a PPP contract (Public Private Partnership) with the City of Belgrade, the City Secretariat for Environmental Protection and the Directorate for Waste Management. This is the largest signed PPP contract in Serbia. The contract stipulates services of treatment and disposal of residual solid waste "Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer Scheme" for facilities and works at the plant for energy utilization of waste (incinerators), a new landfill and the rehabilitation and remediation of the existing landfill in Vinča. It is a concession contract for a period of 25 years.

VINČA LANDFILL Vinča Landfill is one of the largest in Europe (the exist- ing landfill is 43 ha, the new landfill is 32 ha). The entire complex is located on the area of 150 ha. Vinča Landfill was made in 1978. In the mid-1990s, it was decided to close all municipal landfills leaving only Vinča landfill operating. Since 1998 Vinča Landfill has been the Belgrade Vinča only landfill in the area of the city of Belgrade and today center landfill it receives about 2,000 tons of waste per day, therefore making it the largest landfill in Serbia. Vinča Landfill is located directly outside the borders of the city of Belgrade, about 11 km east of the center of Belgrade and about 1.5 km west of the Danube. Vinča Landfill today contains about 11 million m3 of waste and covers an area of 43 ha. The mass of the landfilled waste does not contain an active cover and collapses in the direction of the Danube, which directly threatens the land, surface and groundwater in the immediate and wider area of Grocka, Vinča and other nearby towns. Serbia has incorporated the European Union waste directive and wants to increase the redirection of waste from the landfill. The City of Belgrade initiated this project with the aim of remediation of the existing landfill, construction and operation of the new landfill, the construction of a combustion plant ("EFW") i.e. plants for waste processing and heat and electricity production.
