The Bryant Park Hotel, located in The American Standard Building, is known for its gothic art deco exterior, conceived by renowned architects, John Howells and Raymond Hood, in 1924. Architects John Howells and Raymond Hood built it for the American Radiator Company back in 1924. The architects combined Gothic and modern styles in the design of the building. Black brick symbolizes coal to give the idea of solidity. Other parts of the façade are covered in gold bricks to symbolize fire.
