IDLEB GOVERNORATE: WHOLE OF SYRIA PROTECTION SECTOR RESPONSE (as of 31 August 2016)
Summary information of protection response 331,600 Interventions from January to August, with 11,350 in August. Top three types of interventions in 2016: Recreational activities for protection risk awareness and psychosocial support; structured Child Protection & PSS activities and direct risk education on explosive hazards. 23 Sub-districts reached out of 26 targeted in 2016, with 18 reached in August. 35 organizations are implementing activities on the ground, with 31 reporting directly to the sector.
Highlights Dana and Idleb sub-districts received 70% of the interventions in 2016. The following interventions were rolled out in new sub-districts in July-August 2016: Protection PSS in education, material/cash support for relocation and training on protection mainstreaming in Qourqeena; CP community event and protection cash assistance in Ariha; material/cash support for relocation and establishment of referral pathway, risk education and reporting training in Dana; training on protection mainstreaming in Ma'arrat An Nu'man; clinical management of rape training in Kafr Nobol; GBV case management, referrals and life skills activities in Badama; and direct risk education for explosive hazards in Bensh, Ehsem, Kafr Nobol, Khan Shaykun, Maaret Tamsrin and Teftnaz.

Response in Besieged locations and HTR area Both the besieged locations, Foah and Kafraya Maar Tamsarin, are yet to be reached by the sector. 11 out of 27 communities in HTR area have been reached in 2016, with six in August. Four of them (Abdin, Abdita, Balshun and Hbit) were reached for the first time in August.

Displacement MAR SEP'15 - The Syria IDP task force estimated 908,929 IDPs living in the Governorate, as of August 2016, one AUG'16 third of whom are in Dana sub-district.
