The series of Allied 1918 offensives on the Western Front that forced the Germans to ask for an armistice cost almost as many Orcadian lives as the fighting to stop the German 1918 offensives did. The 70 Orcadians who died in the Allied offensives included 14 Canadians, 4 Australians, 5 New Zealanders and 3 American soldiers.
