Press Kit Who Is Anthony Trimino? PRESS KIT WHO IS ANTHONY TRIMINO? Hi, I am Anthony. I am not a politician or celebrity. I am an entrepreneur who built one of the fastest growing privately held companies in America—and I did so without sacrificing my two most important roles as husband and father. I am also the son of an immigrant who fled a communist Cuba in pursuit of the American Dream—and that American Dream is under attack. Our First Amendment is under attack, our Second Amendment is under attack, our medical freedoms are under attack, our children’s innocence is under attack, as well as our families, our businesses and our ability to worship. But I still believe there is hope for California. I believe we can and will protect our First and Second Amendment rights. I believe we can and should protect our children from radical ideologies like critical race theory being taught in our schools. I will fight for small businesses and I will protect our churches. I believe that healthcare decisions should be made at your dinner table, not in Sacramento. I believe that there are more of us who stand against the few, and if we rise together with one voice, we can restore our great state. So join me, join the movement, and let’s Liberate California. 4 1 As governor, I won’t just open California back up—I will ensure it never closes again. We will KEEPING open small businesses, put kids back in classrooms, reopen churches, restore our hospitality industry and make California the most sought-after destination for travelers, businesses and CALIFORNIA OPEN entertainment in the nation. v 5 2 Our inalienable rights, enshrined in the California Constitution, have been under attack from the very FREEDOM people duty-bound to defend them. As governor, my first priority will be to restore and protect our God-given freedoms to be a free-thinking people able to pursue life, liberty and happiness without the AND LIBERTY overreaching and unnecessary involvement of government. v 6 3 I believe faith is a verb. The Bible actually says that faith without works is dead. I believe it’s time to FAITH awaken the righteous anger that has been dormant inside many of us for far too long. Government, the media and extreme voices on both sides of the aisle have exploited the differences between us instead of promoting the fundamental core beliefs we all share—that we are all born with God-given, inalienable rights. Rights that supersede government reach and intervention. v 7 4 I believe the home is where we begin to solve the vast majority of societal problems that exist FAMILY today—especially around drug use, crime, overpopulated prisons and our foster care system. Instead of promoting family, our government has structured assistance in such a way that it incentivizes broken homes, especially within minority communities. We need a family-first approach to policy in California. Our families are the pillars on which safe, secure communities are built. v 8 5 As a parent, I believe that decisions regarding your children’s health and education should be EMPOWERING made in the home, not by politicians. I will honor and support the sanctity of family and restrict the PARENTS government’s ability to trespass on your rights and liberties as parents. v 9 6 A continual decrease in investment in education and an outdated approach to teaching have EDUCATION made California “the least-educated state in America.” This education gap should be considered a statewide emergency based on the long-lasting implications it has on our economy, communities and future generations. v 10 7 Wasteful spending, failed projects and the mass exodus of large corporations and high-net-worth REDUCING individuals have left our middle class unnecessarily burdened with picking up the tab through the most exorbitant and unfair state taxes in the nation. As governor, I will immediately reduce the tax burden imposed by previous administrations so that California families can finally keep, spend and STATE TAX invest more of their hard-earned dollars on what matters most to them. v 11 8 States like Texas and Florida continue to lure our large manufacturing, automotive and tech ECONOMIC companies away from California, along with the jobs and revenue they generate. I’ll enact policies that cut regulations, empower sustainable growth, stop companies from fleeing and make California the OPPORTUNITY most business-friendly state in America. v 12 9 I believe that all businesses are essential to the people they employ, the communities they support BUSINESS and the business owners they belong to. Our government should not have the overreaching authority to determine what size or type of business should be given special operating privileges over others. And they shouldn’t be allowed to misuse that authority to threaten, intimidate, fine or incarcerate those that choose to operate as a means of survival. I will stand with businesses to ensure that Sacramento is never given another opportunity to choke our local economy or punish our entrepreneurs. Under my administration, California will remain open for business. v 13 10 The healthcare system is fundamentally broken. We focus on treating symptoms and diseases HEALTH AND with little attention placed on prevention. I will use the power and platform of my office to educate, empower and encourage all Californians to better understand the importance of natural, holistic WELLNESS approaches to health and wellness. v 14 11 As governor, I will oppose any overreaching policies implemented or proposed by the current VACCINATION BY administration. Grounded in science and data versus fear and propaganda, I will reject any recommendation to implement mandatory vaccinations and vaccine passports across the state, CHOICE. including in our schools, which many see as simply another form of discrimination. The job of government is to provide you with the information you need to make informed healthcare NOT MANDATE. decisions for you and your family—not to overstep or force unjustified compliance. v 15 12 Regulations and poor planning have stifled housing development, and policies addressing HOUSING AND homelessness have failed due to weak local leadership and a lack of strategic collaboration. To understand how this issue has arisen and become important, the paper explores the origins and growth of a loose group of disgruntled pro-white far-right reactionaries (DPWFRR), who market themselves using the term ‘Alt Right.’ Free speech is but one of many of their ‘concerns’ and perhaps not a central one. The intellectual ambitions and financial foundations of these groups on the one hand and the identity needs of young people on the other hand serve as explanatory frameworks to understand the attraction of students to the DPWFRR’s digital networks. This paper reveals the underlying depth of the problem and suggests that institutions and staff have a clear (though difficult) path ahead if there is to be a powerful and effective revolt against this popular reactionary right-wing network.
