Turisme I Gènere: Implementació a L'aula De La TURISME I GÈNERE: IMPLEMENTACIÓ A L’AULA DE LA PERSPECTIVA FEMINISTA PROJECTE FINAL DE GRAU EN TURISME MENCIÓ EN DIRECCIÓ TURÍSTICA Barcelona, gener de 2020 RESUM La indústria turística, com a sector econòmic present arreu del planeta, forma part de les estructures de poder globals, i hi interactua tant reproduint les barreres que comporten, com alhora possibilitant la reducció de la pobresa. D’altra banda, la perspectiva de gènere, provinent de múltiples corrents feministes, és integral, transversal i multidisciplinar, per la qual cosa es situa com una plataforma que permet llegir la realitat amb nous criteris. En aquest cas, aplicar aquesta visió holística al turisme suposa la revisió d’un gran nombre de dinàmiques pròpies de la indústria, així com també de fets estructurals que es reprodueixen en l’activitat turística. El feminisme, doncs, permet situar les desigualtats de gènere al centre de l’anàlisi, per tal d’entendre de quines maneres aquestes es reprodueixen en la indústria turística i quins recursos existeixen per a reduir-les. L’objectiu d’aquest Projecte de Final de Grau és la creació d’una assignatura optativa que permeti implementar la perspectiva de gènere a les aules universitàries; amb la finalitat de potenciar el pensament crític de les estudiants i construir noves mirades que permetin apostar per un turisme inclusiu i sostenible. La metodologia emprada en aquesta investigació ha estat una revisió crítica de 836 articles provinents de la base de dades Scopus; a partir dels quals s’han identificat les principals temàtiques i debats presents en aquest àmbit de coneixement. A partir d’aquests resultats s’ha creat el programa de l’assignatura optativa, que ha passat per una fase de validació consistent en dues entrevistes en profunditat a expertes en aquesta temàtica. Finalment, s’exposen futures línies de treball per tal d’omplir els buits de coneixement presents actualment en la vinculació entre turisme i gènere. ABSTRACT The tourism industry, as an economic sector present around the planet, is part of the global power structures and interacts both reproducing their own barriers and creating the possibility of reducing poverty. On the other hand, gender perspective, coming from multiple feminist discourses, is transversal and multidisciplinary, thus becoming a platform that allows for the reality to be read with new criteria. In this case, applying this holistic vision to tourism implies the review of a great number of dynamics of the industry, as well as structural facts that are reproduced in the tourism industry. Feminism allows focusing on gender inequality in the centre of the analysis, in order to understand the ways in which they reproduce in the industry and the resources available to reduce them. The goal of this Final Degree Project is the creation of an optional subject that enables the implementation of gender perspective in the university; with the goal of strengthening critical though and building new perspectives to boost inclusive and sustainable tourism. The methodology of this investigation is a critical review of 836 articles selected from the Scopus database, through the main themes and debates of this area of knowledge have been identified. Taking into account these results, the optional subject programme has been created and, afterward evaluated through two in-depth interviews. Finally, future lines of investigation are detailed in order to fulfill gaps of knowledge in tourism and gender academia. Keywords: Feminisim, gender perspective, inequalities, pedagogy, tourism. March 1994. Supervisor: Ms. Frances Gray 3 ABSTRACT This thesis is an examination of the extent to which contemporary British plays written by women constitute an ideological theatre. It is based upon the premise that there is a relationship of feminist theatre practice to feminist theory, where theory is seen to have informed practice and practice has informed the theory. I argue that an ideological theatre can be understood with reference to first, playstructure and second, the place of the performer in relation to both character and spectator. The implications of these can be seen terms first, of representation and second, of the physical presence of the body of the performer on stage and are therefore seen to be to do with the representation of issues on stage and performance issues to do with the woman performer respectively. Using aspects of a materialist-feminist analysis I examine the ways in which feminist epistemology has brought about a transformation of social relations in so far as these are deployed through representation and specific processes of performance based upon the slogan "the personal is political". This involves looking at the influence of performance issues and acting, especially at power-relations as they are reproduced and represented in selected theatre exercises. Importantly, these strategies for reading are always seen in the context of modem British political theatre; the importance of this emerges through my proposition that an ideological theatre practice is one which both establishes and foregrounds a relationship or resistance to existing theatrical form or genres.

The project addresses the following broad questions: How does being the cisgender partner of a trans person inform complexities around the ability to articulate sexual identity? How are cisgender partners finding community and organizing themselves into new forms of community when they often lack language with which to describe their relationships? In what ways are cisgender people allies to the trans people with whom they partner, and how is being an ally connected to forms of everyday resistance and educational advocacy? How does technology play a role in articulations of identity, experiences of community, and the ways that partners participate in activism? This work queers sociology by illustrating and considering the potential consequences of normative categories of gender and sexuality in relation to everyday lived experience.

Through the ethnographic analysis of interviews, documentary footage, newspaper reportage, social media, and videos, the article pays tribute to the late Reverend BobbieJean Baker (1964-2014). The article argues that Black transgender Christian women’s religious subjectivity encompasses the innovative inhabitation of Black ecclesiastical linguistic codes and gestural idioms; the elaboration of transfeminist biblical hermeneutics and discursive mechanisms of legitimation; and the simultaneous performance of culinary and relational virtuosity. The article further contends that Baker’s account of her subjectivity cannot be understood without the insights of Christina Sharpe, Hortense J. Spillers, Monica A. Coleman, Yvette A. Flunder, Savannah Shange, Geneva Smitherman, Psyche A. Williams- Forson, and Karen Baker-Fletcher. Together, they assist in revealing that Baker’s efforts to increase the livability of trans women’s worlds were inseparable from her religious convictions, as communicated through (and constituted by) the discourses of the Black church. Equally so, her ministerial vocation and vision of beloved community proceeded from her experience as a seasoned— and expertly seasoning—southern-born-and-raised Black trans woman. The objective of the symposium is to acknowledge how the works of feminist scholars and feminist film scholars have influenced filmmakers and screenwriters (Radner and Stringer 2011; Roche 2014 and 2018; Maury and Roche 2020), and pursue inquiry of cross-fertilization between films and series, and feminist (film) theory. One task will be to delineate the contours of a feminist cinema and define “feminist cinema”. This could involve assessing the ways in which productions fall within the scope of the third and fourth waves of feminism, and/or respond to the postfeminist/neo-feminist/new feminist contexts. Is feminist cinema films and TV series whose subject is women? Films and series made by women? Or can it all boil down to films ans series which adopt a political stand in keeping with Amelia Jones’s definition of feminism as “a political or ethical engagement with questions of culture” (Callahan, 4)? Black, Latinx and queer scholars and filmmakers have called into question the stereotyped representation and/or the absence of black women, Latinas and lesbians in mainstream cinema (Beltrán, Bobo, hooks, Mayer, Reid) while pointing out the existence of films that challenge such commodified portrayals.
