Recent Efforts
○ A questionnaire survey to local governments ○ Collecting and sharing successful cases from within and outside Japan ○ Consideration of initiatives for future orientation ○ Publishing Report on “Sustainable Tourism” (2019.6)
Ongoing Action
○Encourage tourism stakeholders to work on congestions and troubles with local residents through demonstration-projects and other measures while sharing successful examples from outside and within Japan
○Develop and Promote the “Sustainable Tourism Index” based on international standard so that local governments and DMOs could manage the tourism destinations sustainably based on the result of grasping accurate actual conditions Innovation
