ANALYSIS OF CREW ON ATHENIA SEPTEMBER 1939 Introduction by Brian Watson Ronnie MacLean spent many years working on the lists of passengers and crew of Athenia and we were in regular correspondence.

Sadly he died before his work was complete and this document comprises the last version of his work on the crew list that he sent to me in January 2021. I have edited it to tidy it up but have not changed the contents. The main changes are to the styling and to move his ongoing notes to the end of the document.

This is without doubt the most complete crew list that has been completed to date and will remain as a memorial to Ronnie’s persistence.
