The story takes place at the turn of the century in the boudoir of Amelia who is preporing to go to the biggest ball of the season. The story unfolds rapidly as we follow the trials and tribulations, and the frustrations, of a young lady whose only desire is to go to the ball. In the end a radiant Amelia gets her wish as she leaves for the boll in all her glory.
