Colin Michael Schaer June 19, 1995 - July 12, 2020

Colin Michael Schaer of Rowlett, Texas passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2020 at the age of 25. He was born June 19, 1995 to Alex and Andi (Coleman) Schaer at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

He was a 2013 graduate of Carrollton Creekview High School and a 2019 graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. He had plans to work as a Graduate Assistant at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts while working on his master’s degree. He discovered what would be his chosen career path when he joined the Athletic Trainers program as a freshman in high school where he was blessed to have wonderful mentors who encouraged him in his collegiate endeavors. In joining this program, it awakened in him a love for sports of all kinds, which he shared with his Dad. Together they attended many different sporting events depending on the season, cheering for the , , , and FC Dallas. One memorable event was a trip to Utah on his eighteenth birthday to attend a USA Soccer match. In March, he had accepted a contract position on the training staff of the Frisco Fighters arena football team and was so excited, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the season was cancelled.

Colin also had a great appreciation of music and there was rarely a time you would not hear him singing. This love of music was shared with his Mom and they would perform concerts in the car with all of the windows rolled down and the music up loud. Much to her surprise, he shared an interest in 80’s music from pop to hair bands.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Alex and Andi; sister, Courtney; brother, Daniel; step-mother, Carron; Uncle Roland (Anne) Schaer; Aunt Jessi (Andy) Burklow; grandmothers, Susan Carver and Fausta Schaer; and great grandparents, Jiggs and Donna Stonewall along with numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins. In death, he is reunited with his Grandfathers Werner Schaer, David Coleman and Murray Carver.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well- being of our community, only a limited number of invited guests will be allowed to attend the Memorial Service. The memorial service will also be live streamed on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. on the Turrentine-Jackson- Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Colin’s obituary page.
