RECAP OF RENO 1868 FC v SEATTLE SOUNDERS 2

Reno 1868 FC played Seattle Sounders 2, on Saturday night at Greater Nevada Field. In front of a crowd of 5,711 people, Reno claimed a thrilling 6-0 win. In the 34th minute Reno forward Dane Kelly completed a hat trick after converting his second penalty with a right footed shot past Seattle’s keeper, Bryan Meredith.

1868 FC netted six goals in the contest, three off the foot of Dane Kelly. Kelly has been exceptionally hot, becoming the first player in USL history with back-to-back hat tricks. At the final whistle, Reno came out with its first home win in the club history.

Tulsa comes to the 775 after falling 3-2 against the Sacramento Republic FC on Sunday night. The match started perfectly for Tulsa. In only the 8th minute, Juan Caffa was set free down the left wing, and his cross found Joey Calistri at the back post.

Sacramento held its one-goal lead to well into the second half, be- fore the Roughnecks. On April 8, they fell 2-1 at ONEOK Field. The Roughnecks have yet to beat the Republic in five all-time meetings.

Brian Brown / 99 / Forward Brown, 24, played for club Phil- adelphia Union in 2014. With the Union, Brown made eight appearances and scored two goals. In 2013, Brown played for Harbor View FC in Jamaica’s Red Stripe Pre- mier League. With Harbor View, he won the RSPL Golden Boot (most valuable player award) after scoring 18 goals. Last year, Brown played for Charlotte Independence in the United Soccer League where he scored nine goals in 27 appearances.

Junior Burgos / 10 / Midfielder On June 21, 2014, he made his international debut in a 2-0 victory against the Dominican Republic. Three months later, Burgos was named to El Salvador’s UNCAF Cup roster. Prior to his international stints, Burgos was selected in the third round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft by Toronto FC.

Seth Casiple / 84 / Midfielder Casiple, 23, was selected by the in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. After being released, Casiple signed on with Portland Timbers 2 of the USL. In his debut with the club, he assisted two goals in a 2-0 victory over Premier Development League club Michigan Bucks in the third round of the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Brenton Grifffiths / 23 / Defender Griffiths, 25, played at the international level for Jamai- ca’s U-17 and U-20 teams. He was then selected by the in the second round of the 2013 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft. Griffiths was later recruited for the USL’s Orange County Blues where he played four seasons. After his 2015 campaign with the Blues, he earned All-League Second Team honors.

Anibal Echeverria / 11 / Midfielder Echeverria played for the El Salvador indoor soccer team as part of their Indoor World Cup squad in 2015. With the team, he starred as an attacking midfielder and scored two goals in an 8-3 win against Kazakhstan. Echeverria played soccer for Feather River College in 2008. In one year with the Golden Eagles, he helped the team advance to the CCCAA North Region playoffs. In 2015, Echeverria played for the Sacramento Surge, a professional indoor soccer team in the Major Arena Soccer league. 12 TEAM

Antoine Hoppenot / 29 / Midfielder Hoppenot was selected by the in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft. Later that year, he debuted in a 1-0 victory against the . Hoppenot made 69 appearances and scored seven goals for the club. During Hoppenot’s tenure with the Union, he was loaned on various occasions to the USL’s Harrisburg City Islanders. He made 25 appearances and scored 6 goals with the Islanders. Hoppenot most recently played for USL’s FC Cincinnati in the club’s inaugural season.

Russell Klabough / 1 / Goalkeeper Klabough, 22, played as goalkeeper for Sockers FC in the Premier Development League last year. Klabough guided the team to the best season in club history with an 8-3-3 record, conceding just four goals while making 17 saves. Prior to his professional career, Klabough played colle- giately at California State University, Stanislaus. Klabough led the Warriors to a 14-3-3 record, allowing 20 goals on 249 shots.

Dane Kelly / 9 / Forward The 25-year-old has scored 48 goals over six USL sea- sons, and he marks the first player signing in 1868 FC’s history. Kelly was born in Jamaica where he started his professional career with Tivoli Gardens of the Red Stripe Premier League. He led the League as top scorer in 2010 with 15 goals. In 2011, Kelly was recruited for the USL’s Charleston Battery, where he eventually played five sea- sons. While with the Battery, he was named the club’s Play- er of the Year and earned All-League First Team honors.

Matt LaGrassa / 20 / Midfielder LaGrassa, 23, played four years at California Polytechnic State University. During his time at Cal Poly, he also played for the and Ventura County Fusion of the PDL. LaGrassa later returned home after signing with Sacramento Republic FC and proved himself as an essen- tial player in their midfield.

Jordan Murrel / 4 / Defender Murrell, 23, progressed through the Canadian national team’s U-18, U-20 and U-23 programs, and holds sig- nificant experience in the Premier Development League and United Soccer League. While attending , Murrell played for the Ocean City Nor’easters and K-W United FC of the PDL. Murrell later played for the USL’s Real Monarchs and most recently the Pittsburgh 13 Riverhounds. TEAM

Jimmy Ockford / 15 / Defender After graduating from Louisville, Ockford was acquired in the second round of the 2014 Major League Soccer SuperDraft by Seattle Sounders FC. In the following years, he played for the of the North American Soccer League and Seattle Sounders 2 of the USL.

Mackenzie Pridham / 8 / Forward Pridham, 26, played four years at California Polytechnic State University. After college, Pridham played for various teams in the USL. He made his USL debut with Minnesota United in 2014. In The following year, he moved to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 before playing for Sacramento Republic FC this last season.

Jordan Roberts / 7 / Midfielder Roberts, 23, originally from Bishop Aukland, England, came to the United States to attend Quincy University, where he played four years. After graduating, he was signed by the USL’s Saint Louis FC, where he played during the 2014-2015 seasons. Roberts’ father, Alan Rob- erts, played for Middlesbrough from 1982-85.

Brent Richards / 16 / Defender Richards, 26, was the first homegrown player to be signed by Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers in 2012. Prior to signing with the club, Richards played for the in the Premier Development League from 2009-11. Richards helped the Timbers U23s win the PDL championship in 2010 with a perfect 16-0 record.

Cameron Vickers / 77 / Midfielder Vickers played for the Harrisburg City Islanders in the Unit- ed Soccer League last year. With the Islanders, he made seven appearances and scored one goal. The Auburn, Washington native began his career with the Tacoma Tide of the Premier Development League (PDL) in 2008, where he made 45 appearances and found the net six times. In 2012 he moved to the Portland Timbers U23 side where he 14 scored four times in 15 appearances. TEAM

Nick von Niederhäusern / 5 / Midfielder Von Niederhäusern, 27, most recently played for Swiss (Raiffeisen) Super League club, FC Vaduz from 2013- 16 which earned him a spot in one of the world’s most popular video games, FIFA 16. He made a total of 74 appearances with Vaduz, including nine Europa League qualifier matches and was part of Vaduz’s Liechtenstein Cup Championships in 2014, ‘15 and ‘16. Vaduz posted a plus-44 goal differential (46-2) during Von Niederhäus- ern’s three-year stint in the Liechtenstein Cup.

Jake Ward / 13 / Defender Ward, 28, currently resides in Truckee, California, and most recently played soccer at California State Univer- sity, Chico. In 2013, he started in all 18 matches and scored two game-winning goals. Before attending Chico, he played one season at Butte College. At Butte, Ward earned All-Golden Valley Conference honors in 2008.

Chris Wehan / 14 / Midfielder Wehan, 22, spent the summer of last year training with the before he was invited to do a trial with Reno 1868 FC last month. In Wehan’s junior year, he was named to the First Team All-Conference USA after leading the Lobos with 10 goals scored. In the same year, Wehan was named MVP and best offensive player of the Grange & Ashwell Memorial Invitational and earned a spot on the Academic All-Conference USA. As a senior, Wehan led the Lobos to victory in the 2016 Conference USA Men’s Soccer tournament and was declared the MVP.

Dembokwi Yomba / 17 / Forward Yomba, 20, joined the Atlético Madrid youth program in 2014. In the same year, he made his international debut for Atlético in the EUFA (Union of European Football) Youth League against Olympiacos. Yomba and his former Spanish club would later advance to the quarter- finals of the tournament. Prior to his stints with Atlético, Yomba played for the United States U-17, U-18, and U-20 teams. Yomba was scouted while traveling with the U-18 Men’s National team to the Copa del Atlantico in Spain. TECHNICAL STAFF

Ian Russell Head Coach Russell played for the and later started his professional career with the Seattle Sounders of the USL First Division in 1998 and 1999. Russell was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in 2000 and continued to play seven seasons in MLS. Six of those seasons came with the Earthquakes, where Russell helped the team win two MLS Cups in 2001 and 2003. In 2008, Russell returned to the Earthquakes as an assistant coach, a position he held for eight seasons. He helped lead the club to the postseason twice, while earning the Supporters’ Shield for best regular season record (19-6-9) in 2012. Russell was also instrumental in the Quakes’ international and collegiate scouting efforts, and briefly helped oversee the club’s youth development as the academy’s technical director. He served as the Earthquakes interim head coach for the final two games of the 2014 season and holds a U.S. Soccer Federation “A” coaching license.

Eric Bucchere Assistant Coach Bucchere, 34, has nine years of coaching experience on his résumé. He most recently held the head coach position for the men’s soccer team at Menlo College, posting an overall record of 43-23-9 across four seasons, including a Golden State Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championship in 2016. Bucchere also led the Premier Development League club Burlingame Dragons to back-to- back division titles from 2015-16.
