In New Sailors and New August, we purchased a Catalina 36 and began our own family Slipholders, and have made adventure in the world of sailing. We look forward to getting many New Friendships! to know more people at the club, improving our sailing skills That's what MBYC is all and enjoying a full season of sailing next year. As the familiar about! (author unknown) Bob Malone Dave Boehle

Throwing off the Bowlines Mid-August 2012, we did just that – threw off the bowlines. Dave and I joined MBYC in April through Gregg and Kristen VandenBosch, our long-time friends. They introduced us to the club as a wonderful place to relax and meet others. We were warmly welcomed by other members, and it didn’t take long before Dave was invited to join the Wednesday night crew on Shillelagh. Dave greatly enjoyed these evenings as he learned to sail and met others with similar interests. Our kids, Emily (age 13) and Sam (age 11), couldn’t wait to take their sailing lessons through MBJA, and there they learned to sail Lasers. Sam was so enthusiastic, he even joined an Opti race after four days of sailing lessons! In the meantime, Holly was enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of the club and the opportunity to meet many new people.

Saturday JY15 racing started up again in September. Nancy Andreano couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of great racing, beautiful clouds and great winds as she sat on the back of her boat. Thanks Nancy! 9 Kids’ Stuff

Kids: Do we really run this club for them? They swim (even in the rain), win sail- ing awards, serve breakfast twice a year, have their own Board of Directors and officers, including a Commodore, use the docks for fishing, roast marshmallows at the annual Hobo Bonfires, take les- sons with the MBJA sailing school, and some are even learning to crew on the big boats. And they sail and sail and sail those tiny boats. They must be the fu- ture of the club or we wouldn’t spend so much effort making MBYC a great place for growing up. Thanks to Marcy Beyer for taking all those kid pictures.
