Sweet City Records was a Cleveland-area label run by Carl Maduri. It was initially distributed by Epic/CBS, but later by MCA with some self-distribution in-between. Their album output was little more than a dozen discs, but their early albums were some of the earliest disco records. Sweet City releases tended to feature regional bands (LaFlavour was an Ohio band, Wild Cherry was an Ohio/Pittsburgh outfit, and B.E. Taylor and Q were from Pittsburgh, although Gabriel was a Seattle band).
