In 2013, following the recommendation of the Electoral Boundaries Commission, this district was renamed Hammonds Plains-Lucasville and it lost the area east of Highway 101, including the Upper Sackville area, to the new constuency of Sackville. It gained Tancook Islands from Lunenburg Centre, and St. Margaret's Bay from Halifax St. Margaret's.

In 2003, it expanded eastward along Highway 333 to include West Dover and Bayside (SNS 2002, c.34).
