Also, RBI Decided to conduct Bi - Monthly Monetary Policy Reviews (Every 2 Months) from Now Onwards as compared to current practice of eight Reviews 6. A Committee headed by RBI Deputy Governor Urjit Patel gave its recommendations on strengthening the Monetary Policy Review Process of RBI and succested to adapt the new Consumer Price Index (CPI) (combined) as the key measure of inflation instead of Wholesale Price Index (WPI). Directorate General of Foreign Trade’s e-BRC project has won the 2013 eASIA Award under Trade Facilitation category. Award was given by Asia Pacific Council for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (AFACT) in Vietnam. About e-BRC Project electronic Bank Realization Certificate (e-BRC) project was launched in June 2012 to electronically transmit foreign exchange realization details on exports from the respective banks to Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). 8. Government approved minimum monthly pension of Rs. 1,000 under EPS-95 scheme run by retirement fund body EPFO and it will benefit 28 lakh pensioners who get less than this amount currently. 9. Hun sen is re-elected as Prime Minister of Cambodia. 10. In the 'Ease of Doing Business' ranking of 189 economies, India has dropped from 131 spot last year to 134 This Year while Singapore continues to remain at the top, according to a recent report by World Bank. 11 . Michel Djotodia is appointed as new President of Central African Republic, a country in central Africa. 14. National Food Security Scheme launched on birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. Salient Features are Priority households will be entitled to 5 kg of foodgrains per month per person. While Antydaya households will be given 35kgs of foodgrains in a month to the whole family. These two categories (Priority and Antyodaya) are called eligible families in Food security scheme. It will cover 75 % rural and 50% urban population. Public Distribution System (PDS) will provide rice @ Rs. 3/KG, Wheat @ Rs 2/KG and Coarse Grains @ Rs. 1/KG. The Bill has been deemed to come into force from July 5, 2013 when national Food Security Ordinance came into force. At the current terms of the bill, about 612.3 Lakh tonnes of foodgrains will be required and corresponding estimated subsidy for its implementation will be About 1.25 Lakh Crores. 15. Serve To Win is written by Novak Djokovic. 16. Shambhunath Srivastava is appointed as new lokayukta of Chhattisgarh. 17. Sir Edmond Hilary Mountain Legacy Medal 2013 (Meant for Mountain Expeditions) has been given to Indian person Harshwanti Bisht for her various acts meant to spread harmony in Mountain areas. In 1981, she successful climbed Nanda Devi Mountain. Harshwanti Bisht has become the first Asian to get this title. Last December we presented our case to the IOC’s Programme Commission and this day in May we shall do so to the IOC Executive Board in St Petersburg, Russia, along with the other shortlisted sports for the place on the programme of the 2020 Olympic Games. The presentation group will be led by WSF President Ramachandran and features our two world champions Nicol David and Ramy Ashour, whose passion and charisma are sure to impress the IOC President Jacques Rogge and his fourteen IOC Board colleagues. The bid film will be shown – it features the two players and has already been viewed nearly 110,000 times, along with the video giving a snapshot of the 185 countries that play squash (you can see both at http://www.worldsquash.org/ws/?p=10564) – along with a new film, that is being finished featuring innovation, broadcast and presentation. The spoken presentations will be accompanied by over 70 great slides illustrating the points made. What happens next is not confirmed. Originally it was stated that one sport would be recommended for ratification by the full IOC membership but indications now are that a few sports may be put forward for the final vote. That will be made clear on the evening of 29th May and we must hope that we are there for the final decision in Buenos Aires on 8th September.
