ABERMULE NEws MAY 2019

Doubts have emerged that controversial £4 million waste facility scheme earmarked for Abermule might not be built after councillors refused to back it at a meeting of County Councillors on 3rd May. This resolution and vote came about largely because of the passionate, loyal and unstinting support of a mere handful of Councillors, who have nothing in particular to gain wherever a Waste Bulking Facility for the North of the County may… or may not ... be built, but who have been unrelenting in being prepared to stand up and be counted, in saying that this is just a wholly inappropriate place to site such a facility, and in their HUGELY appreciated support for our beleaguered little community.

Extract from MyNewtown :- Council Leader, Cllr Rosemarie Harris said: the comments as well as reports from planning committee, and looking at other sites would all be taken into consideration when cabinet meet to make a final decision.

It isn't over! We must still keep going. We had a terrific turnout 3rd May and I am so grateful to all supporters who have stuck with this effort. Jeffrey Matthews Chair of ACT.
