Hamilton Hip hop in Holland Garden talk Renowned world-wide for their beauty and originality, the Hamilton Gardens are the topic for the meeting of the Continuing Education Group next Wednesday. Vice-president of the 'Friends of the Gardens', Marliena Ruka, will accompany Virginia Graham to talk about the concept of the Hamilton Gardens, their growth, and new projects for their future. All welcome - for more info see the ad in today's paper or phone 871 6434. Car crash correction Our coverage of a crash on Bank St in last week’s edition described the incident as a single vehicle crash. The vehicle pictured, which had left the road and crashed through the seating area, had been hit by another vehicle after its driver failed to give way. We apologise to the victim for our error. BY CATHY ASPLIN

Gardening is a way of life for Te Awamutu couple Lachlan and Wendy Chambers. Lachlan is a gardener at Highfield Estate, while Wendy has been a familiar face in the Mitre 10 Mega garden centre for 24 years. So it comes as no surprise they also have a wonderful gar- den. While they like slightly differ- ent styles, their small town gar- den has been developed over 14 years. “It’s a constant evolution really. “We both have a passion for gardening as we come from gardening families. But we only have one day to share when we aren’t working, so the garden also has to be reasonably low maintenance,” says Wendy. Lachlan loves pots and pre- viously worked for a company selling them, so the garden features a large number and variety of impressive pots.
