Dear

The Fundraising Committee for Wells Community Hospital has great pleasure in inviting you to ‘Romancing the Stone - The Sparkling History of Diamonds’ an illustrated talk by John Benjamin FGA DGA, a highly respected member of the BBC’s ‘Antiques Roadshow’ team. John is also a lecturer for NADFAS and works as an independent consultant advising on insurance, acquisition and the sale of high value jewellery. In what promises to be a fascinating and highly informative session, he will describe how man has mastered the cutting and polishing of the hardest substance on earth. He will discuss the various styles of cutting, describe the history of diamond jewellery and highlight some of the world’s most famous diamonds. The talk will be followed by questions and wine and sandwiches will be served. There will also be an opportunity to book a private appointment with John to discuss your personal queries concerning value, identification and the background to inherited family pieces. Admission is by ticket only, price £30 to include wine and finger buffet. To apply please contact Penny Chapman, 8 Field House Farm Cottages, PE31 8AG, or Stephanie Worsley, St. Anthony’s Cottage, Burnham Norton PE31 8DS.
