windows 10 update assistant 1909 download Feature Update via , version 1909 Enablement Package. Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909 share a common core operating system with an identical set of system files. Therefore, the new features in Windows 10, version 1909 were included in the latest monthly quality update for Windows 10, version 1903 (released October 8, 2019), but are in an inactive and dormant state. These new features will remain dormant until they are turned on through the “enablement package,” a small, quick-to-install “master switch” that activates the Windows 10, version 1909 features. The enablement package is a great option for installing a scoped feature update like Windows 10, version 1909 as it enables an update from version 1903 to version 1909 with a single restart, reducing update downtime. This enables devices to take advantage of new features now. For version 1903 devices that receive updates directly from , devices automatically get the enablement package by installing the feature update to Windows 10, version 1909. If a device is updating from Windows 10, version 1809 or an earlier version, this feature update enablement package cannot be manually installed. Instead, it is bundled and automatically included with the feature update to Windows 10, version 1909. Note the installation time is not reduced in this scenario. How to get this update. When I try to update my Windows version to 1909 in "Check for Updates," it fails to update and tells me to try restarting every time. I've tried many solutions listed on the website as well as third party website and video solutions, but nothing is working. The Windows 10 Update Assistant tool that also attempts to install the latest version (I want to use the Beta App) tells me that I am compatible for the update, but it also does not run and gives me the error code: 0xc1900107. Examples of what I've tried: -Restarting my PC. -Attempting to factory reset but this does not work (runs into an error when attempting to do so) -Troubleshoot (says no issues) -Update Drivers (all up to date) -Command Prompt checks (enabling and disabling, something about cat, etc.) -Much more but I can't remember off the top of my head. Does anyone know how to update, because I really want to download the XBOX Beta App, but it requires the latest version of Windows. I've been trying all day to fix this (literally), and nothing is working. I appreciate any and all help! Windows 10 version 1909 is available via Update Assistant. Microsoft is preparing the OS to become available for download automatically via Windows Update. Windows 10 version 1909, code named '19H2', is a minor update with a smaller set of enhancements focused primarily on select performance improvements, enterprise features, and quality enhancements. It is now officially known as Windows 10 November 2019 Update. As of now, interested users can install it manually. In addition to Media Creation Tool and Settings, Microsoft unblocked version 1909 for use with Update Assistant on November 18, 2019. The Update Assistant app simplifies the upgrade process. It performs a number of compatibility tests to ensure that your hardware is compatible with the most recent version of Windows 10. My Lenovo X1 Carbon 5th Gen laptop seems to be stuck on release 1909 of Windows 10, which has twice been superseded (by versions 2004 and 20H2). The Windows Update tool says "The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once its ready for your device you'll see the update available on this page." and gives this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004. I've checked for obvious issues holding this up, including: 1. ensuring there's ample disk space to download the update, and. 2. running (from Settings) 'Troubleshoot -> Windows Update', 3. running Lenovo Vantage service app and using it to ensure system is fully up-to-date with up-to-date drivers including BIOS. Any ideas why I'm stuck on an old release? Subscribe Subscribe to RSS feed. Report abuse. I'm Greg, an eleven years awarded MVP, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved. I would manually upgrade to the latest version by downloading the latest installation media from Media Creation Tool following the steps in the middle of the download page here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m. . I would create the bootable media as shown so you have it if needed to do the superior Clean Install. Open the media in Explorer, or double click the ISO file to Mount it, right click Setup to Run as Administrator. If any problems report back the verbatim error and number, then continue with these steps for overcoming Version Upgrade problems: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki. If the Version has problems I will work with you to try to resolve them. If the problems are unfixable for now, you have ten days to roll it back in Recovery settings. You can then hide it so it doesn't try to reinstall following this same method: https://www.howtogeek.com/223864/how-to- uninsta. Most problems are resolved by doing this gold standard Clean Install which should get you past all difficulties as it has millions of others who have followed the steps in this link and never come back to report another problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki. . So read it over and see if its something you want to learn to do. There is also older version media available from Microsoft TechBench here: https://tb.rg-adguard.net/public.php. Thanks for your feedback. thanks very much for your response. That makes sense. Does that approach require a re-install of all apps and user data? Also, will I be caught out with license key issues. Will the new install work with the old keys? If so, how do I recover the keys so I have them available? For me this is not an urgent issue. I might hold off to see if something emerges that simply clears the roadblock to the normal update proceeding. Report abuse. Was this reply helpful? Sorry this didn't help. Great! The in-place Upgrade keeps your files, apps and most settings in place. The only reason it won't offer this is if the install is too corrupted, the main reason Windows won't upgrade to new versions. I gave you that easier option rather than the list of repairs to get Windows Update working, because if the Upgrade installs it will solve all such problems. But if you prefer to try to repair WIndows Updates because they are no longer installing at all, I can give you the steps for that which I give here multiple times per day since WIndows 10 was released. Let me know what you prefer. I am glad to help. Windows MVP 2010-20. Millions helped via my tutorials and personally in forums for 12 years. Now an Independent Advisor. If you click on "Learn More" under the "The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way" you will find this on the Microsoft page: Errors or issues during or after updating devices with Conexant ISST audio drivers. Status Originating update History. Last updated: 2021-01-22, 01:43 PT. Opened: 2020-05-27, 12:22 PT. Synaptics and Microsoft have found incompatibility issues with certain versions of drivers for Conexant ISST audio driver and Windows 10, version 2004 (the Windows 10 May 2020 Update). Windows 10 devices with affected Conexant ISST audio driver might receive an error or experience issues while installing the update or after the device has updated. The affected driver will be named Conexant ISST Audio or Conexant HDAudio Driver under Sound, video and game controllers in and have file name uci64a96.dll through uci64a231.dll and a file version of 7.231.3.0 or lower. To safeguard your update experience, we have applied a compatibility hold on Windows 10 devices with affected Conexant or Synaptics audio drivers installed from being offered Windows 10, version 2004 or , version 2004 until the driver has been updated. If your organization is using Update Compliance, the safeguard ID is 25178825. Client: Windows 10, version 20H2, Windows 10, version 2004. Server: Windows Server, version 20H2, Windows Server, version 2004. Workaround: To mitigate the safeguard, you might need to check with your device manufacturer (OEM) to see if an updated driver is available and install it. If updated drivers are not available for your device and you are offered Windows 10, version 2004 or Windows 10, version 20H2, a small number of devices might roll back to the previous version of Windows 10 when attempting to update. If this occurs, you should attempt to update to Windows 10, version 2004 or Windows 10, version 20H2 again. Next steps: Microsoft and Synaptics are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release. As of January 14, 2021, we are adjusting this safeguard to allow certain devices with the affected driver to update to Windows 10, version 2004 or Windows 10, version 20H2. Note We recommend that you do not attempt to manually update using the Update now button or the Media Creation Tool until this issue has been resolved. Thanks, I had the exact same issue with my Lenovo Yoga 720 12IKB being stuck on 1909 and being told that my Windows 10 May 2020 update was on the way (2004) but it was staying like that for almost a year, while stuck on 1909 that was losing support next month. I had even gone into the windows folder and deleted old downloaded updates in case they were corrupted. AFTER googling Lenovo site that my model was compatible with Windows 10 2004 AND 20H2, I used your install Widows 10 link to update this week, and everything updated directly from Windows 1909 to 20H2 (skipped 2004). It seems to work fine and I HAVE NO DRIVER ALERTS IN DEVICE MANAGER and all my drivers seem fine. I also created a windows installation USB drive from that page. I had removed over 25 GB of temporary and files from the almost full 120GB internal SSD, and it runs MUCH FASTER than when it had an 80% full 120GB SSD and the older version of Windows (57GB free now). Since it was going to become a keeper after this, I cloned it with Acronis True Image to a 500GB Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SATA in an external case, which I then installed the 500GB inside of my Yoga 720. With the current windows installed, and bigger SSD, I think I can stretch this laptop's lifespan for another couple of years, while when stuck on 1909 for over a year (and it getting fuller and slower) I was ready to throw it out after only 3 years of use (intel 7th gen). So, thanks for the help - I didn't know I could update from the web when windows updater on the laptop wouldn't work. Report abuse. 1 person found this reply helpful. Was this reply helpful? You do not have the option of downloading SP1 when you use Windows Update to check for updates. When you use Windows Update to check for updates, you may not be offered the option of downloading Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1). Cause. There are certain scenarios where the installation of Windows 7 SP1 may not be successful. To help avoid these scenarios, Windows 7 SP1 is not offered through Windows Update if any of the following issues are true for your computer:: Windows SP1 is already installed, or a prerelease version of Windows 7 SP1 has not yet been uninstalled. Another update has to be installed before Windows 7 SP1 will be available. A program on your computer is preventing Windows 7 SP1 from being installed. System files that are required to install Windows 7 SP1 are missing from your computer. Resolution. To resolve this issue, follow the steps in the methods below starting with Method 1, if method 1 does not resolve the issue, go to method 2. Method 1: Confirm that Windows 7 SP1 is not already installed and that you are not running a prerelease version of Windows 7 SP1. To do this, follow these steps: Click Start , right-click Computer , and then click Properties . Check the Windows edition section: If Service Pack 1 is listed, Windows 7 SP1 is already installed on your computer. If a version number (for example, v.153 or v.720 ) is listed after Service Pack 1 , a prerelease version of Windows 7 SP1 is still installed on your computer. You have to uninstall it before Windows Update will offer you the release version of SP1. For more information, see. Method 2: Check for pending updates. Update 2454826, 2534366, and 2533552 may have to be installed on your computer before Windows 7 SP1 will be offered in Windows Update. To install these updates by using Windows Update, follow these steps: Click Start , click All Programs , and then click Windows Update . In the navigation pane, click Check for updates , and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer. If any important updates appear, click Install updates .
